If you strive for peak performance or plan to live a very long time like I do, you want clear vision to match? Go to screenfit.com Dave or use code Dave to get $200 off and try it for yourself. You'll see what I mean. Literally, for years, the people that we're supposed to trust with our health have literally been poisoning us. They knowingly let us feed our bodies with things that make us weak over time, things that take away our vitality. And it's in our food, it's in baby formula, it's in your skin care. But why? Short answer, it's cheap. And cheap shortcuts mean fat profit margins for companies and for the healthcare system. The long answer? There's something they don't want you to know. Which I will reveal to you in this video. My name is Dave Asprey. People call me the creator of the biohacking movement. For good reason. Because for the last 20 years, I've been speaking out against the people and the companies destroying the health of millions of Americans and others around the world. And today, I'm going to expose the dirty truth about seed oils so you can finally take back control of your life, or at least your inflammation. But before we get into the seven deadly seed oils, what actually is a seed oil? How are they made? And why should you care? One of them literally comes from wine industry waste and it's not good for your cells. Another one is tied directly to DNA damage in studies. Oh, and it makes you age faster. And that's not even the worst part. Whole seeds can have immune supporting benefits, but once you pull the oil out, well, it turns into something that is not good for your cells. And that's no exaggeration. The first extraction method involves mechanically crushing and cold pressing the seeds to release oil. But the Second method is kind of disgusting. They clean, crack and cook the seeds and soak them in hexane, which is a chemical made out of crude oil. It's the same stuff that is part of what you put in your gas tank and that leaves behind a toxic mix of seed oil and hexane. And Europe has regulations about this. Their max limit is 1 milligram of hexane per kilogram of oil. Not great, but much better than the USDA or FDA, because in the U.S. well, the FDA doesn't even monitor or regulate hexane at all, even though it's a hazardous air pollutant under the Clean Air Act. So you can't breathe it, but you can drink it. And it gets worse. After hexane, they refine the oil first with water or acid to de gum it, then with an alkaline solution to neutralize free fatty acids. And then they bleach it with clay or carbon. And the final step is the most damaging step. It's where seed oils really become bad for your biology. They steam them at high temperatures to remove odor and flavor. It's called deodorization. And after all that heating and deodorizing, they pour the oil into plastic bottles and, and they add them to foods and stock them on grocery store shelves. Now why is this such a problem? Why is it dangerous? Well, you see, seed oils contain linoleic acid, which is an omega 6 polyunsaturated fat that you get through your diet. And you actually need a small amount of it. It's essential, but it needs to be undamaged and you don't need a lot of it. Unfortunately, when you expose linoleic acid to high temperatures, like during deodorization, it's already unstable, so of course it oxidizes. And that oxidation creates a toxic pro inflammatory environment inside your body because it produces something called aldehydes. These are toxins linked to chronic health risks, according to multiple studies. Think of your body like an apple. When it's whole, it's crisp and fresh. Cut it open and leave it out, it turns brown from oxidation. Oxidized linoleic acid works in a similar way. It makes your body's apple more prone to browning. So just like that apple breaks down or a piece of metal will rust, your cells start aging and they break down prematurely when they get flooded with this oxidized linoleic acid. Now, how does something as deadly and unnatural as high dose seed oils make their way into our diets? Well, the American food system is feeding one of those Seed oils to millions of babies and parents don't even know it. But it all starts to make sense when we jump back in time to the early 1900s. Well, William Proctor and James Gamble, you know, from Procter and Gamble, they owned a failing candle company that was headed for bankruptcy because everyone could just use electricity and light bulbs. So in a last ditch effort to save their company, they made a scientific breakthrough. They discovered that hydrogenating cottonseed oil turned their candles into a white lard like substance, which they named Crisco. At the time, lard was the main cooking fat. Now, lard does have some linoleic acid, but the pigs ate a very different diet than they do now, and it was undamaged. But after Upton Sinclair published the Jungle, it's a book exposing the horrors of meatpacking plants, including humans falling into the meat. While lard's reputation and meatpacking plants in general took a hit. And that opened the door for Procter and Gamble. With one clever marketing campaign, they positioned Crisco as clean and pure and safer than Lard. They poured millions into marketing. They launched Crisco cookbooks, they hired celebrity chefs. And here's the worst part. In 1948, the American Heart association, yes, those guys received a $1.7 million donation from Procter & Gamble. It's about $20 million in today's post. Biden dollars. Yes. The same organization Americans trusted to protect their health was getting paid $20 million by a big food company and magically butter, lard and tallow, you know, the healthy natural fats that have sustained humans for thousands of years, they're pushed out and rancid, toxic Crisco took its place. That's how seed oils started infecting our diets. And that's why we're now going to expose the seven deadly seed oils to look out for. The first, seed oil is an infant formula. Breadcrumbs, cooking spray, snacks, and much more. And I have not eaten this oil in 15 years. It contains unstable omega 6 polyunsaturated fats, and studies show it does impact brain health in mice. It's also linked to obesity and a higher risk of metabolic disease. And it's not just in food. It's also a great machine lubricant. It's in some forms of lighting, fertilizer, soaps, and even paint. So why do they put it in almost everything we eat? Because it's cheap, it doesn't have much flavor, and it has a high smoke point that makes it so it's appealing for cooking because after all, if you don't see smoke, it must be okay, even though that's not real. But it wrecks your health. It drives inflammation everywhere in your body. And the worst part, most of us eat it every single day without knowing it. Deadly seed oil number one is soybean oil. Now, the next deadly seed oil is linked to inflammation, obesity, impaired brain function, depression, and heart disease. It's in snacks like potato chips and crackers, fried foods, baked goods, cakes, donuts, all this stuff. Oh, but it's also in soaps, paints, inks, insecticides, and even biodiesel. Yet you'll still find this seed oil number two, infecting our foods. And that's corn oil. Swapping foods with corn oil for omega 3 rich foods like wild salmon can help you reduce inflammation and promote overall health. In fact, you could swap it out for butter and be much better off. Now, our next deadly seed oil is one of the most disgusting of them all. Companies actually use it in plasticizers. It's a compound that makes your car tires and, yeah, your car tires a little bit softer, more flexible. Companies are now exploring it for tape, glue, bioplastics. And people have used it for years as engine and machine lubricant. But it's not just greasing engines. It's damaging your mitochondria. Restaurants cook five star meals with it. It's in baked goods, breads, even a lot of your favorite coffee creamers, all because it has a creamy consistency. One study linked it to metabolic disease in adults who cooked with it. Animal studies show it increases oxidative stress and inflammation. That's why deadly seed oil number three is the most dangerous. Canola oil, also known as rapeseed oil until they rebranded it as canola Canada oil or canola oil. Traditional canola oil is high in arugic acid. It's a substance classified as toxic. It's tied to heart disease, hepatic steatosis, also known as fatty liver, one of the most dangerous things for longevity. So if canola is being used to make tires and lubricant machines, why are we putting in our food? Well, simple. It's for profit. It's cheap and easy for food companies to use. Sales go up, your health goes down, but doesn't affect the margins. Yet. We're not done with these deadly seed oils just yet. We're just getting started. Because the next seed oil is the grandfather, the seed oil that is the core reason we have them in our diets in the first place. People use it to make soaps. As a feedstock for energy, for biodiesel, and even to dilute butter so that you can buy it at a lower price. It's probably in the fine print. It's also one of Procter and Gamble's multimillion dollar moneymakers, and it's in bread and chips and salad dressings and mayonnaise and a lot more. I'm talking about cottonseed oil. Unrefined. Cottonseed oil contains a toxic compound called Gossipol, and this can cause poisoning, liver damage, immune suppression, and reproductive issues. Now, food and health organizations argue that refining cottonseed removes enough Gossipol so it's safe. But that's really only half the story, because during refining, cottonseed oil gets deodorized and oxidized. This is the very process that makes oils inflammatory because they're unstable. So it's still a toxic seed oil just dressed up in a health halo. I would say it's a wolf in sheep's clothing, marketed as healthy, but it quietly floods your body with inflammation. And unfortunately, that kind of deception is all too common in today's health industry. And that leads us to deadly seed oil 5, which is more well known and still, unfortunately, widely used. You'll find it in processed foods like bread and snacks and cereals and protein bars. One startling study showed that it had the highest emissions of total aldehydes when used for cooking, even compared to canola oil and soybean oil. Aldehydes are linked to DNA damage and could speed up the development of cardiovascular disease and particularly Alzheimer's. But regulators still allow it in our food and even in our baby formula does, and in skin creams and lotions and lubricants and inks. And for biodiesel. Talking about sunflower oil, Rich and unstable omega 6 polyunsaturated fats, and one of the most common seed oils in our foods. Now, this next seed oil has been called a petrol replacement. An Australian company is using it to create a super lubricant, something that could supposedly revolutionize industries. Does that sound like something you want to put in your food, a replacement for gasoline? You see, this seed oil is used in paints and varnishes and even as a raw material for plastics. It's in salad dressings, pasta, rice dishes, fried foods, even cooked vegetables. Safflower oil is deadly seed oil number six, and it can also increase blood sugar, which makes you crave those highly palatable sugary foods. And finally, seed oil number seven to avoid is the waste product of one of the world's most popular drinks. Winemaking produces waste called grape pomace, which includes the seeds. These seeds then get crushed, bleached, deodorized and poured not into the waste where they should have just been left, but right into your food. You'll find it in sauces like barbecue sauce, healthy nutrition bars, stir fries, even in frozen foods. It's also used in soaps and skincare products and to replace gas and even to make plastic. Introducing deadly seed oil number seven. If you haven't guessed already, it is grapeseed oil. Now here's where grapeseed oil is unique in the worst way. It can also contain dangerously high levels of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons known as PAHs. These are carcinogens that often lead to lung cancer, and this can happen during the drying process or when it's being refined. PAHs in studies mutate your DNA, increasing your cancer risk. And I wrote about this in my first big New York Times bestselling book. And this is on top of grapeseed oil containing lots of Omega 6s that are easy to oxidize, so they cause inflammation when you cook with it. I'd recommend you don't eat anything with grapeseed oil or canola oil or any of these seven seed oils. But there's one more that might be even worse. The reason I left until last is because it's less common than the other ones. However, they still manage to sneak in into our food sources and tell us it's healthy. Studies are suggesting it could replace petroleum based oils that we use to cool and lubricate cutting machinery. So at least there's that. And I say we let it and we could just take it out of our food. It's also good for shoe creams, cosmetics and biofuel from machines, but you'll find it in baked goods like bread and salad oils and many Asian dishes like stir fry. I'm talking about rice bran oil. This little known seed oil comes with hidden dangers. One study tested six popular brands and found traceable concentrations of heavy metals in all of them. Heavy metals are really toxic. They can cause brain damage, liver damage, Alzheimer and cancer. When they process rice bran oil, it can be contaminated with polychlorinated bisphenols and polychlorinated dibenzofurans, both of which are linked to serious, serious health problems. In fact, going back as far as 1968, there was a mass poisoning in west Japan called yusho from PCB contamination in rice bran oil. Over 1900 victims got fatigue, headaches and numbness in their limbs from rice bran oil. But Yusho wasn't the last. The same thing happened in Taiwan just 11 years ago. More people poisoned by high doses of PCB contaminated rice bran oil. The rest of the rice bran oil is still very likely to have some PCBs, just not enough to knock you out right then. And we haven't mentioned the most obvious thing, which is that rice bran oil is still a highly unstable omega 6 seed oil. So when you cook it, when you expose it to air or light, it oxidizes and it becomes inflammatory for you. All the seed oil soaked foods that we're eating were never made to feed our bodies. They're made to feed the corporate machine. It's where health is profit and food is revenue. Sadly, many food companies don't see you as a person, just a source of profit. And that's the dirty truth behind the seven Deadly Seed Oils they are cheaper than oils that are good for us like tallow, butter, even lard, even olive oil. Those are expensive. So they're going to lie to you to make you think something that's cheap is good for you, even though there's plenty of evidence that it's not. So how do you protect yourself? Cook with butter, cook with ghee, cook with tallow like your grandparents did. They're rich in fat soluble vitamins that support the way you see, support your bones, even your immune system. And just avoid the middle aisles of grocery store. That's where processed seed oil loaded foods live. Stick to the outer aisles with whole foods and fresh produce. And if you want something that doesn't come from a cow, you can eat some coconut oil. Even some palm oil is a better choice than any of these seven deadly seed oils. And if you go to a restaurant, even the five star ones still use seed oils to cut costs. So don't eat fried foods at restaurants. Or you can ask what oil they cook with. You'll be shocked. And here's a bonus for you. Even when they say they cook with olive oil, it's usually cut with 25% canola and they don't tell you unless you ask twice if this helped. Like Share and Subscribe we can't fix our entire food system without you. So let's make America and the whole world healthy again.
