What you do is you get a salad bowl about as big as your face, and you put an inch of water in it, and you put it in the freezer overnight. And then you take it out of the freezer and you put some water in it. About, oh, a couple inches, three inches of water. You take a deep breath and you bend forward and you stick your face in the ice water. Just face, right, eyes, forehead, chin. And most people, you got about eight seconds before you get a headache and that and go, ah. Then you pop out and go, what the hell, Dave? You're a jerk. You're going to put the water back in the freezer for the next night, and next day you'll go 30 seconds and. And then the third day, you might make it up to a minute if you can hold your breath that long. And if not, just snorkel. That's what I ended up doing. Or just take a breath and stick your face back in there. Studies show that after three days of subsequent cold exposure, something called cardiolipin, which is part of your mitochondrial membrane, will shift its composition and suddenly. Now you can handle the cold. And your meat os did that without anything but just a brief spike of temperature. And the benefits of this are it calms your vagus nerve, and it also makes your face look better.
