Gerard Adams explains why infrared saunas leave you energized while traditional high-heat saunas drain you. Infrared mimics the sun's spectrum and helps your body produce more ATP, the energy molecule. Unlike a day at the beach, which exhausts you, infrared saunas restore energy.

When you use a high heat sauna, most people will comment that they feel drained and that they at the end are just like, okay, I've got to get out. And infrared is the exact opposite where to your point, with the water changing, your energy is restored. It actually produces more energy. And so you have two completely different experiences. Kind of similar to also a day at the beach where a lot of times people, when they're outside all the time, they'll be at the end of the day, like exhausted, where infrared is. If you were able to harness the sun like we have with infrared and you get in, you're actually going to feel more energetic and produce more ATP and feel like, I always sit well when I'm done, I'm like, I can now go do anything. It's like the perfect refresh, you know, tool for so many different reasons.
