Dr. Dan Siegel discusses interpersonal neurobiology and how our brains connect with others to shape health. The conversation covers how relationships literally change brain structure and why understanding these connections matters for wellbeing.

Bulletproof Radio a state of high performance. You're listening to Bulletproof Radio with Dave Asprey. Today's cool fact of the day is that us humans may have magnetoreception abilities that we don't even know about. Maybe not to the extent of magneto in X Men, but but a new analysis of our brain waves when surrounded by different magnetic fields suggests that we do have a sixth sense for magnetism. And birds, fish and a few other creatures can sense Earth's magnetic field and use it for navigation. But we haven't been able to prove whether humans have that kind of ability or not. And now, by exposing people to Earth strength magnetic field pointed in different directions. In a lab, researchers from the US And Japan discovered distinct brainwave patterns occur in response to rotating the field a certain way. The study was just stimulating the effect of someone turning in different directions in Earth's natural unchanging field without requiring the participant to actually move. And by holding people still when that happened, they prevented motor control thoughts from tainting the brain waves from the magnetic field.
