Were you worried when you decided to call your book Lies I Taught in Medical School? Do you think you might piss off a few colleagues here and there? Well, it was intentionally provocative to get people's attention. Maybe a few other people will look at it and begin questioning things. But I. I'm always reminded of quote from one of the greatest doctors of all time, Sir William Osler. And he famously addressed a class of graduating medical students 120 years ago. This quote is one of the most famous quotes about medical education. And he said, gentlemen, I have a confession to make. 50% of what we've just taught you in medical school is wrong. And furthermore, we don't know which half it is. Wow. How honest.
