This is a YouTube video titled "The Key to Autophagy." It features a conversation involving Alicia Mackey Huber and another speaker discussing the role of spermidine in longevity and autophagy, comparing its effects to fasting and rapamycin. The discussion centers on biochemical mechanisms related to aging and cellular renewal.

The research that I published in my book about spermidine as, you know, one of these new longevity compounds that, that you couldn't yet buy when the book came out was the convincing evidence that autophagy is important for longevity. And this is basically breaking down cells that need to get out of there and replacing them with new, young, strong cells. And it turns out spermidine does that in a similar way to fasting and a similar way to rapamycin.
You're right that spermidine is a fast fematic in a sense, but it actually may be the key player to autophagy, that without it, if you fasted and you didn't have adequate spermidine levels, that you might actually not be able to induce it. And that's because what spermidine does is it actually activates something or increases expression of something called acetyltransferase EP300.
