Chapters
The reality is, animal proteins give you minerals and plant proteins steal minerals. Except in a few very specific cases, they'll tell you spinach is high in iron. Popeye did that. Guys, Popeye was injecting testosterone. They were making fun of weightlifters when they did Popeye, and they just said, yeah, spinach. Spinach has 1.7% absorbable iron, and it contains a high amount of oxalic acid that causes gout, kidney stones, and a really uncomfortable condition I've never experienced called vulvodynia, which is when razor sharp crystals of calcium oxalate form in your vulva. So. So why are we eating raw spinach and kale salads that contain these things? When our grandparents were smart enough to cook the spinach and add milk, which had calcium, to deactivate that toxic compound, it's because we lost our way. But if you test your red blood cells, you'll know where your minerals are. And I will tell you, if you've avoided animal protein because you were misled by an animal rights terrorist group, then maybe it's time to pick up a burger.
