Grocery store lighting is deliberately harsh to impair your thinking and push you toward junk food. The speakers claim it can reduce cognitive capacity by up to 70%. They suggest wearing light-filtering glasses and a baseball hat to shop more clearly.
Maybe that's why I hate grocery stores. I barely go shopping. I hate how cold they are and I hate the lights.
The lights are so nasty. But they do it for a reason. They're stunning you. Which makes you make more stupid decisions to buy packaged food. If you put on two light glasses and a baseball hat and you go shopping you'll buy healthy food. And if you walk in there just completely taking 70% of your cognitive function with toxic lighting and not knowing why, you just feel like you just buy.
All the sugary stuff, you don't feel good so you're buying the shit. Yeah.
And your body just tells you get energy now and then you just spend. And it's not like there's a big bad grocer who's deciding to do this. They're just saying what kind of lighting maximizes sales. The kind of lighting that makes you stupid.
