You Are Enough! Find Your Authentic State with Panache Desai

Panache Desai argues that feeling enough starts with accepting your inherent nature, not fixing yourself. Societal conditioning creates self-judgment that separates you from your authentic core. Authenticity feels like peace; suffering signals you're living inauthentically and wasting energy.

A state of high performance when someone says, all right, I've decided that I've never felt like I'm enough. And I saw the title of your book, haven't read it yet. And I decided I want to feel like I'm enough. What's step one?
Step one, first of all, is to start to accept and embrace who you are. You know, nothing in nature denies its design. You know, squirrels don't go to self help seminars and cows don't. Don't need to go to abundance workshops. Right? Everything in nature is inherently designed perfectly to perform its function, right? For some reason, we as human beings are the only species on this planet that questions the perfection of our design inherently. Right? So what's happened is, what's happened is we've invalidated ourselves, we've invalidated our uniqueness because society conditions us to conform. We. Right? The very second we hit the school system, all of a sudden, the more docile and compliant we are, the more we can function inside of that system. And every system has its own inherent set of limitations. So our issue in life is that we have invalidated our humanity. We've made parts of ourselves wrong. We've listened to this hierarchy that's been superimposed over us, and we're experiencing separation internally. The more we can embrace who we are emotionally, the more we can embrace who we are at the level of the mind. The more we can embrace who we are at the level of the body, the more that that essence of who we are emerges. And so I've discovered that now humanity is really the doorway to this divinity, to this part of us that is potential. So this part of us that is this infinite presence. And so being with ourselves and accepting and embracing who we are begins to unleash all of that potential that we have inside of us.
I'm going to play devil's advocate here because I largely agree with what you're saying. But you know, okay, I'm following step one, and I'm gonna wake up to who I am when I'm, you know, 25, 24, something like that. I'm an obese couch potato, pretty pissed off all the time. I like watching tv. Not that I didn't try to do something about all these things, but I like watching TV and that's kind of who I am, right? So there, I know I'm awake to it. A checkbox on step one. What's step two? But of course, a lot of those assumptions, all those belief systems weren't actually mine, right? And I was also, you know, an entrepreneur. And I had actually started building my career and didn't have as much time to spend on the couch as I probably would have if I didn't have anything else to do. But in all seriousness, like, there's a lot of people going, what am I? I don't know, a couch potato? An unattractive couch potato with, you know, body odor. Like, we all have these weird mindsets. How do you know who you are in just step one of you are enough. When you have all these belief systems, whether it's because that's a behavior you're exhibiting or because it's a programming that you got when you were young, how do you know what's you?
So again, when we're being ourselves, it's that core foundation of feeling peaceful, right? So everything else above and beyond that is dissonant to who we authentically are. So, so basically suffering is completely inauthentic. It's completely inauthentic. It requires so much energy to suffer, right? It requires no energy at all to just simply be who we are, which is peaceful. So I think one of the things that's been missing in the transformational framework at large is that we don't have a context at the feeling level for who we are, right? We have all this intellectual framework and understanding and this cognitive capacity to talk about ourselves all day long from all different perspectives. But. But because we don't know what authenticity actually feels like, we don't have a point to return to on demand. And because we don't have a point to return to on demand, we can't then source our choices and decisions from that place. But the first step for me is to always become very acutely aware of who we've become and to have so much empathy and compassion for who we've become. Because that is a product of a system and a structure that has fundamentally judged and criticized and, and marginalized who you are in order to have you fit into a world, right, that quite honestly doesn't work for the majority of us anyway. And so when we first kind of wake up, we have to come back to this place of compassion and empathy for ourselves. Because we have to start from there, right? Where we start from and how we move on from that place of discovery is how we will evolve. And I think the bigger issue for that individual is that, you know, clearly in that situation, a lot of self judgment, a lot of self criticism, a lot of self hatred, right? That person was never embraced, was never held, was never enough. That person was never modeled what love was in any kind of demonstrable way. And so again, you know, in unpacking that that particular example, you know, giving someone a real practical feeling point of okay, this is who you are. This is what you feel like when you're being yourself. And all of these other things are just fluctuations that are happening and at the level of the mind, the level of emotion that at least gives you a place to start. But this journey of acceptance is a journey of broadening our inclusivity toward ourselves, right? So in that moment if we're 26 one that's open, we fundamentally don't love ourselves and hate ourselves completely, then we at least have to accept where we are in that moment in order for any change or any transformation or the possibility of any change or transformation to even be introduced to that individual. In the absence of that acceptance, no change or no transformation is possible on any level of life or living.
