Hello, everyone. Welcome. Welcome to a new episode. I'm really excited about this episode today because we're going to talk about freedom, freedom lifestyle and also building your own freedom business in a very, very special situation. I have here a very good friend of mine, Liz, on the podcast, and today we're going to have conversation about her business and about what freedom lifestyle means to her. So, Liz, welcome.
Thank you so much. Thanks for having me.
All right, so always on the podcast, I ask a few quick questions just for the audience to get to know you a little bit better and to sort of, like, understand, like, where you are in your journey.
So.
So my first question is, where are you from and where are you talking from?
Oh, good question. So I was born and raised in England, in London, but my parents were both Italian, and I now live in Italy. I have done for the last 10 years, and that is where I am tuning in from today.
Cool, Cool. Where is it in Italy?
It's in Puglia in southern Italy, in a tiny little town where both my parents were born, called Roseto Valfortore. It's very, very beautiful little town in the hills.
I mean, I've seen the photos. I haven't visited you yet, but I've seen the photos and a lot of videos. Looks really, really, really amazing. We're gonna talk more about where you are actually, later. Okay. So another question that I have is when you, like, started your business, like, the business that you have right now, in that moment, what. Where. Where were you in life? Like, what. What were you doing? Did you just quit a job or what? How. Where were you in your life?
Yeah, I was at quite a sad moment in my life because my. My mum had passed away in 2014, and my dad had passed away in 2021, and they had spent 20 years building this property. It was like their dream home. They always wanted to retire back to their hometown. And they worked. They literally poured blood, sweat, and tears into, like, realizing this property, it's a big five bedroom villa with a swimming pool and two hectares of land. It's a massive thing. But unfortunately my dad, when my mum passed away, wanted to put the house on the market, so he did that in 2018. We didn't have any offers until 2022 after my dad had passed away and the offer that came in was really, really low. I didn't. But I had inherited the place with my brother and sister. They lived in the uk, they didn't really want the bother of owning a business in Italy. At the time I didn't have the money to buy them out. So I actually thought that the place was going to be sold and I signed an acquisition proposal for it to be sold even though I didn't want to. Then at the very last minute after I came here to pack the house up, I was like beside myself because it felt like losing my parents all over again. And I just remember like going to bed one night, just so sad, so upset. And I took this ring into my hands. It's my mom and dad's wedding ring made into one ring. And I just said, mom, dad, if you're there, please send me a miracle. If this house isn't meant to be sold to this person, like please help me. And the next day a lady phoned me up that I had been volunteering on a regenerative farm with in Wales. And she said, liz, your parents came to me in a dream last night. You can't sell this property. How much money do you need? I've just sold a house. I will lend you the money that you need to buy it with brother and sister. And I was like, oh my God, what just happened?
That's crazy.
Like, I think I've just manifested a miracle. Like I have no idea where this is going to go, but I have to say yes. So at the point where I actually became the owner of this property and took it on, I had no idea of what I wanted to do here or what this business was would become. Then when I finally registered the property as a business in 2023, I thought, let's do co living. Co Living for Digital Nomads. Because I've always co lived. Even though I wasn't a digital nomad technically per se, I led a very nomadic lifestyle and I've always been self employed.
Yeah.
And so I was like, okay, this could work. I teamed up with a business partner. But in the summer of last year we realized that we weren't aligned. And at the end of 2023 really is when the big vision for what the business that I want to build finally landed. And since then I've just been inching ever closer towards manifesting that vision.
So there's so many things I want to ask right away. But one thing I want to ask two questions, but we're going to touch on two different things. So the first question is about the 23 registration and the second question is going to be about like finding finally your vision. This is just a self reminder for me that I'm going to ask these questions. So. Okay, so you said that you had to register your business or your. The property, so the villa as a business. And I want to touch on this a little bit because we see in, well, it's in the digital nomad space, but also in the freedom lifestyle, freedom business. Like, yeah, just have a buy an apartment or just like buy something and you renovate it and then you're just gonna make money on the side and it's all easy breezy butterflies and all of that. But with people that I talk to that are more into property development and property investment, like especially doing this abroad in the place like, like for you, Italy is still abroad because you grew up in, in the uk. Yeah, you know the language, but you don't know, maybe the system. Like there's so many complications. Could you talk briefly about your experience with that? And maybe also in a way that can help our listeners if they're also getting inspired right now on Instagram, TikTok with like, oh my God, yes, I want to buy a villa in Italy or cheap in, in, in Croatia, wherever that is. Like, what, what does it mean actually to have a property that is a business?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, okay. So first and foremost, learn the language. Like, I hear stories from so many expats who've come to Italy and they're like, oh, the bureaucracy. Oh, it's so complicated. This and this and this and this and this. It's so difficult to get anything done. Personally, I haven't experienced that. Like, I have, I have met people that have bent over backwards to help, but I really believe that that's because I speak Italian, you know, and even if I can't say something or I forget what something is, the fact that I have made the effort to speak their language to them makes such a big difference. And the first question I ask these expats that are complaining is, do you speak Italian? And they're like, oh, no, no, we don't speak Italian. Like they march into someone's office expecting help, speaking English to these people, expecting these people to speak English back to them, and then wondering why they just keep meeting resistance. It's like you've got to. You've got to give a little, you know, before you expect to receive back.
And then they don't share that on social media.
No, they just like, bitch and complain.
Every time I see another person doing it so successfully, I'm like, there's more to this story. When are you going to share that?
Yeah, yeah, yes, There you go.
Okay. Speak the language.
Speak the language. And also, like, just get a good accountant. I'm really lucky. There's a guy in town, he was really good friends with my dad and he's just taken me under his wing and his, like, hand holding me through a lot of the complicated procedures. He speaks very clearly, explains things to me. So you need somebody. Yeah, some. Somebody that can deal with the books, especially if you're opening a business in Italy, because it's. It is complicated, but it's not impossible. You know, like, millions of businesses exist in this country. It's, you know, it is doable.
Okay, I love those tips. So let's go. Go to the. To the vision. So why I want to touch on that is because also in freedom lifestyle, freedom business, there's a lot of. And we had this on the podcast as well. And then also just, you know, talking with my clients and all of that, there is a lot of like, okay, this worked for this person. Person. This is a really great idea. This can make a lot of money.
Let.
Let's just go with this one because I have the skills or whatever that is. And then people bank on something like that. And then after, like hustling for months, if not years, they found out that. Or they find out that they're actually not interested in that topic. Not the kind of work. I think this is very natural. Like, sometimes you also, like, you know, like, overcome certain things or just like, things are just not so interesting for you anymore over time. So can you walk us a bit through, like, the journey of, like, you. Okay, so co living made sense. Like, how. Why did that make sense for you in the first place? Like, what. Why did that then come to you and like the different business ideas you had and that moment when you felt, okay, wait, this is more in alignment, this is more within my goals or capacity or like, because everyone experiences that feeling of alignment and of like, this. This is my pathway so differently.
Yeah.
So it's more as an inspiration also for the listeners on how they could potentially approach that in their own journey right now. Especially if you're stuck right now, you're like, I don't know what to do. This could be good.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I, I had the original idea of co living actually suggested to me by my cousin's best friend who is a like long term digital nomad. He's been to all of the digital nomad communities, stayed in loads of co livings and he knows this property and he came over one day and he was just like, Liz, like you should do co living. Like this is the perfect place for a co living. And honestly, hand on heart, I didn't know what co living was in 20, like 2022 when he was suggesting that to me. So I kind of looked into it and I was like, okay. I was like, I've co lived most of my life, you know, in one way, shape or form. So I was like, yeah, this just makes sense. I'm just, I'm used to sharing my home with other people and funnily enough, like my parents, one of the businesses they ran in England was first a bed and breakfast and then it eventually evolved into a care home for the elderly. So like I've always grown up with people in my house, you know, I'm just used to it. So I said, okay, fine. I ran it, kind of did a little trial, kind of liked it. Had some digital nomads come to say for free in exchange for their ideas and input. I was like, yep, okay, fine. Because I had really limited funds. So I was like, where? Like what's important? Is it more important for me to spend money on a, on a big fridge or on desks? You know, so that was really helpful. And then I ran, I ran the co living seasons last year, ran a spring co living season last year with a business partner. It was difficult, I'm not going to lie. And at one point I was like, is this really what I want? You know, this is, this is a lot.
What was like the difficult or a lot part was, was it like running a co living? Because a lot of people also think that this is a great business idea, but it really requests a lot of your capacity.
Like what?
Can you touch a bit more on that?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So like I'm running this business, I'm wearing lots of different hats. So it's not like I'm just the community manager or the person that brings the people here. Like I do everything and it's my home. So that's the other thing. You know, it's not just some random place that I'm renting and bring people and then I have a community manager that does everything and I don't really get involved. Like I'm here and I feel everything. I'm an empath as well. And so if somebody doesn't feel comfortable here for whatever reason, I feel it. And I just, I just had last year a really difficult situation between kind of the co living participants that came here and I actually had to step in as a mediator at one point.
Another hat.
Yeah, another hat. You know, and I was just like this, this is too much like I can't do this for months on end. So it made me question a lot, you know, it made me question my, my business partnership. It made me question whether or not this is what I wanted to do, whether this was how I wanted to kind of maintain this property. And during the summer last year, not last year, 2023, through a period of like really just letting go of a lot of fear, a lot of self doubt, a lot of false beliefs that I wasn't enough to manage the business by myself. And then during the kind of autumn of autumn, end of. No, sorry, it wasn't 2023. Wait, what was it? I'm losing track of time now. Yes, in 2023 is last year that the first co living season ran and that was the really challenging time. But it was the end of 2023 when the big vision for what I wanted to create here finally landed. And it was just through researching what co living actually is. So yeah, in the spring of 2023 I ran like a trial co living with a really nice group of digital nomads that helped me. Then towards the end of 2023 I was doing more research on what co living is and I came across this concept of conscious co living. And then, you know, like I kind of meditated on it, chewed over, contemplated on it and this realization just suddenly hit that I was just like, wait a minute, ever since I was a little girl, I've always talked about creating or belonging to a community. I never ever imagined that I would have the opportunity to like own a property or own land and build my own community. But I was like, wait, this is what I have with this property. Like I have an opportunity to build my own community. But I didn't know what I was doing because like I'm a dj, music producer, yoga teacher, permaculture designer, massage therapist. I have never run hospitality businesses in my life. So like I was like, I have no idea how to do this, like how do I even do this. And that's when I started to speak with my former business partner. And then we worked together. That's right. I've got my timeline right now. We worked together last year and we ran a co living season together last spring. Very challenging. Had to mediate. Questioned whether or not it was what I wanted to do. My former business partner and I then decided to terminate our partnership in the summer, officially last year. From that moment forward, I was like, right, plug into the vision. Like plug into the big vision. What do you need to do in the here and now to move yourself towards that big vision? And I started to realize, like, wait, I want to build permanent community here. I want us to co create and maintain a regenerative farm here. I want everything to be about permaculture ethics. So earth care, people care, future care. I'm not sure digital nomads are my demographic anymore. So I started to go into Facebook groups and meet people that were inside eco village and permaculture groups and start kind of just introducing myself and putting the project out there and like, my God, the response I had was amazing. Like so many people were interested in.
Mm.
And fast forward to now. I'm actually in the middle of running my own co living season. But now the messaging is very clear. It's like I run my co living seasons because we want to form a permanent community here and the co living seasons is an opportunity for us to find each other. Like, for me to find the people that would want to potentially belong to a permanent community here and vice versa. And like how I knew that this was what the vision for this place was. And I don't really feel like it's my vision. It's just, it's a vision that came to me, you know, like I just, I'm the kind of channel, I'm the vessel. But it's like, it's how it makes you feel, you know, when I. When things get overwhelming, which is often, you know, because I'm wearing lots of hats.
Yeah.
When things get overwhelming, I just remind myself to plug into the big vision. And it's like, it's just like I plug myself in and it recharges me and gives me energy again. And it's just a feeling, you know, it just makes the hairs, the hairs on your arm and on the back of your neck stand on end, you know, it excites you. It fills you with energy and enthusiasm, you know, and it just feels right, you know, it's hard to describe as a feeling, you know, it just feels right, you Know, like, because I have had many careers as well, you know, and I've loved them all. But my music career especially was very ego driven. You know, it was driven by ego based desire and the energy behind that was very different. Even though, like I became an internationally successful DJ and an award winning music producer, you know, like on paper I was like critically acclaimed, but it always felt like I was pulling like a heavy boulder up a hill, you know, Whereas this like, yeah, I'm working hard, yes, I have sleepless nights because I'm worrying about certain things. But the overall energy behind it is like way that it feels like there's like a wind beneath my wings, that it feels like there's a force so much greater than me, like just pushing me ever forwards, you know.
Yeah.
So that for me is the, was the difference. Like it feels like this is my life's purpose. On reflection now, I, I realized that a career in the music industry wasn't what I was here to do, you know.
Makes a lot of sense. I also love what you said about that. On paper it like sounded good and it looked good. I think that like, if we think about freedom and especially like this word, like freedom business. I like the word because it's like, yeah, you can find so much freedom in your business, but if it's not in alignment with your personality, with your big dreams and also your capacity, then it's not a freedom business. So yeah, so for me, like also, you know, with my work where I help entrepreneurs and business owners to find more freedom in their business, I always talk about aligned freedom. Because the freedom business model is like, yeah, do what you love, like follow your passions, make a lot of money, like all these kind of things, like, yes to all of that, but like choose your alignment first. That's the most important thing. And also what you said about audience, it's so interesting. Like my whole like mind is like, ooh, like I'm thinking about like my funnel foundations. Because we always talk about audience. Like there's so many people that I work with. They're like, yeah, we need to, we, we need to focus on digital nomads. And I'm like, yeah, but look at, really at the digital nomad space. Like who is actually in that space space. Like, are, are you sure you want to have these kind of people? There nothing wrong with the people I used to be, but it's more like is this in alignment with, with actually on how you will experience freedom, how it will look like, how it will feel like. So I find it very Interesting because for you it's, it's, it was the co living experience that was very challenging. That was, that was like a golden nugget basically. Because that gave you misalignment, gave you so much information.
Yeah.
So I think also when, when this just little tip for the audience, like if you're a service provider or you have like a property like Liz has, or you're a coach and you're constantly struggling with your clients or with the people, maybe it's not the service you're providing. Maybe just like fishing in the wrong pond. Like that's very possible.
Yeah, yeah, good advice.
A lot of beautiful new things can happen once you find your podcast con so super important. I want to also touch a bit on the partnership thing because I find it super interesting and in a way also brave to like to really have like a business partner for something that was already so challenging to get. And in your case it's a business partner, but it could also be like maybe the virtual assistant or the, the service provider that you're going to hire to do your marketing or to do your sales or whatever that is like finding the right people to work with is generally challenging. So eventually you guys went your own way. What were some of the most, most like beautiful learnings that you had from like the transition of like, sort of like you fall in love as business partners and then you find like, okay, maybe there's. This is not working to actually making that decision to say, okay, this is not working, we're going to go our own ways. Like what, what are, what is like beautiful key learnings that you have from that experience? Because it's sad when it happens, but it's good as well because then everyone can just do what they want to actually do. Find their own freedom.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think one of the biggest learnings I had was don't be scared to let her go. You know, I think the worst thing people can do is through fear or whatever reason to try to clutch onto something that's clearly like moving away. So yeah, I think that just that like, okay, she, she's moving away. Even though, you know, she wasn't, she wasn't here. She decided that she needed to move on at the end of April and that was fine. And when she left the property, between that period and when we met again in person in July, so there was like two months in that two month period, energetically, I just felt her going, you know, like she didn't need to say anything to me. Like, I just knew that she she had made the decision to move on. And, you know, there was a part of me that was just like, oh my God, no. Because like, like you don't know what you're doing and you're really inexperience, you know, you need a business partner. And then there was another part of me that was just like, just let her go. Let it happen. It's all going to be okay.
Yeah.
I think being aware of the different voices in your head and going with the one that isn't in a state of utter fear and terror is definitely one of the biggest lessons that I learned throughout this whole process. The other lesson that I learned is like, don't underestimate your own capabilities. You know, even if it might be something that you're not necessarily experienced in. You know, like if, like me, you decide that you want to run a co living or you want to set up a community and you've got no experience doing it, if you feel so driven to do it, just do it. You know, take the leap of faith and just trust that the journey will give you everything you need in order to become the person you need to become to make your vision come true. Yeah. You know, like this freedom lifestyle thing, like, I've been kind of contemplating it a lot since, since you invited me on here. And, and this was also like a big realization that I had that I've been continuously having, you know, in the development of this business because I love traveling. But when you're running a business that requires a fixed location like this one.
Counterproductive to travel a lot in a business.
Yeah. Do you know what I mean? But then I'm like, wait, you know, like, freedom doesn't necessarily mean constantly packing my backpack and going off on an adventure. Like, freedom's an inner journey as well, you know, and it's, it's, it's an inner journey before. It's an outer lifestyle almost. It's a mindset thing if you feel free in your mind. Like that to me is true freedom, you know, and that's, that's also another big lesson that I've, I've been learning. And your partners feel that, you know, like, I've got a small team now of people that are kind of volunteering themselves to help either because they've come here and they've loved it and they've seen like, oh, Liz, you need help with this, or Liz, you need help with that. So now, like potentially I have a virtual assistant stepping in who's going to work in exchange for online yoga classes. And I've got a social media manager who is staying here for free in exchange for him helping me out with my socials. And all of that started to come together when I claimed being at the helm of this business as my own, you know, so, yeah, like partner up with people, definitely, but they have to be the right person for you is super important. Like any relationship, you know, like, it can't be codependent, it can't be toxic. You need to make sure your visions are aligned. Yeah. It needs to be balanced and matched.
Yeah. Thanks for sharing that. I think it's like, I mean, as a business owner myself, it's been really interesting also when I had to do my business alignment and to really figure out like, with which clients do I actually enjoy helping with their funnels or marketing sales systems and their AI and their automations and all that sexy stuff, it was, it was really hard to give myself permission to sort of be like, okay, if I just rate the freedom feeling for like per client and all these things, I was very clear. But I had to give myself permission and like my home, sticky notes, tears, tissue, to be really, really honest with myself. Like, what, like, what is the freedom sensation? Zero. No freedom sensation. I feel like really stuck. I cannot breathe. It's constant struggle. And five is like, I feel so free and uplifted and energized and it really helped me to understand, like, okay, so then why is that? Like, what are the situations that making that happen? What is it about this personality of the business owner? What is it about the business itself? Even so I really had to dig deep and I think that what I also see with like a lot of business people that want to start a business or want to live a travel life or a remote lifestyle or something like this, like you don't want this 9 to 5 job, so you just start a business. But then we forget this alignment. And I think there's no freedom business without alignment. Like, so that's for me again, I call it aligned freedom business because I can copy someone else's freedom business quite easily. That's not going to be my freedom business. It needs to be aligned with me. So that's also why I love what you shared about partnerships. Because, yeah, like even your partnerships to your audience, what you're actually offering, but also your partnerships, like who are you collaborating with and who are going to be part of that vision and carry that out also.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Because also, you know, like being an entrepreneur, a lot of people think, yeah, yeah, yeah, no, I'm just going to start my own business. It's going to be great. It's a work, you know, like, you have to love what you're doing in order to make it successful. And just because it's a work doesn't mean that it's not freeing. Like, I actually find working hard on something that I love is very freeing. But yeah, you have to work hard at it. You know, you have to work hard at making your business successful.
Yeah, it's actually quite funny because, I mean, today we're both feeling slightly under the weather. But it's very interesting because with this podcast. But actually this is a good example. So the podcast itself is like, I love this. Like, I can do this in any state. Like, I don't know, maybe not when I'm giving birth or something really funny, but you know what I mean? Like, you know, I, I can do this. Like, this is so easy for me to show up and it's easy and it feels good and people enjoy it and you know, like, there's just all this, like this, it's just good energy and I love the conversations that I have. So it's like, it's all good, but at the time. And that's also why I paused the podcast for a while, because I wanted to have you on earlier. But I was so misaligned with podcasts because I didn't like the topics anymore. But for weeks I was like, I should not podcast. I should not do that anymore. I don't like it. And even my partner was like, her. But you like that thing. That was your thing. And then I was like, oh yeah, no, I do like it. And then I was like, I just constantly back and forth. And this is also business. Like, you're gonna be like, amazing. Oh my God, this is crap. Amazing.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, but also now, like I found like the topics changing my own lifestyle from being a full time digital nomad for five years to actually found a home base. Like, I love that, I love the podcast, but it, they had to, we had to make some changes for me to help it again. So, yeah, don't give up if you don't like it. You just have to understand, like, what are the Freedom Sensations?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly.
Then you have to investigate if you have Freedom Sensations. Also investigate, like, why is that?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And don't be scared to pivot as well. You know, I think part of being a successful business owner is being able to pivot quickly and change if you have to, you know, and to not Be scared of change. Yeah, I think that's essential. Definitely. Definitely. Yeah.
Also time to enjoy it. Like, I think I'm definitely guilty of this. Like, I have tried to pivot and then I sort of rushed it because I felt like this really has to work. Actually, that also happened with podcasts. Like, I rushed it and then it didn't work out. And I think sometimes then we can spend a lot of time, energy, like those, like resources, sometimes even. Even financial resources as well. And then when it doesn't work out just yet, we get so disappointed. Yeah, it's like really a lot. So I think also when you're going to make changes, like if you take aligned decisions, so you're going to take aligned actions, like, it's not going to be perfect right away. The outcome is not always going to be amazing. It's still hard work.
Yeah. Yeah, it is. And, you know, like, I remember talking to you like, a couple of years ago about your podcast and how it's like, oh, it was already starting to not feel aligned and you were wondering how you were going to pivot and yeah, you know, look at where you've got to now.
I was afraid to. To admit it to myself because. And this is what a lot of digital nomads. And that's also why we're like, you know, like, why did the podcast is not so focused per se, on digital noma, per se. Because a lot of people actually that were on this podcast, like the majority of my guests by now, they're not traveling full time. There's really a few. Like, Daisy is still traveling full time and she made it also her business. Maddie is traveling full time, made it her business. But like Hand Jordan Dean, like, so many people, they just have like, their space. Like, it's really beautiful. There's still like this freedom entrepreneurs, business owners thing. So it's, it's, it's. Yeah, it's quite a journey. Yeah.
Yeah.
Definitely happy you're now on the podcast because now it feels aligned.
Good. Yes. There you go. He got the zing.
Amazing. Amazing. So we're almost at the end of the episode, so I want to touch a little bit more on the freedom sensation. So you have a very clear vision at the moment. And what are. Can you share a bit more about, like, your freedom sensations connected to your business? Like, things that are. That you're excited about, things that are coming up maybe also cool for our audience to know.
Yeah. Wow. Gosh, so much.
You have one minute.
No, I mean, I'm always like a season ahead Right. So, you know, we're approaching the final month of the spring co living season now. So I'm thinking, okay, what's going to happen for the autumn co living season? Already started to talk to some people who want to come and join us. And you know, I've got a few people coming who really want to belong to permanent community. And you know, it's a very real possibility that once I'm ready to accept a permanent community here that like one or two of these people might be like the first members of that. So that's super exciting. And then, yeah, we've just been doing loads of stuff out on the land as well, getting a no dig vegetable garden up and running, which is something I've wanted to do for like at least 18 months. And to like finally see that coming to fruition now is just super rewarding. And then, yeah, you know, also like, I finally finished the business plan, which is a massive thing. So now I'm looking, I'm speaking to a grant specialist about potentially applying for a grant to get some funding for future development. And yeah, it's all really exciting and quite scary. There's like excitement and terror. Excitement and terror.
But those feelings can live alongside each other. Like it can be.
Yeah, yeah, totally, yeah. Yes. So, yeah, I'm excited for the future in general, you know, and I think in a world where, you know, this old toxic system that has had us by the throats for so many years, like, it's finally falling apart and it's finally starting to crumble and for a lot of people that's really scary. But you know, like, I'm actually really excited for the future and I'm, you know, really, I just feel so grateful, you know, to have been given this opportunity right at this moment in time to build something like this as well.
So.
Yeah. Yeah.
All right, cool. Thanks so much for sharing your story and also be being so honest, I. I think it's just really like a lot of golden nuggets for the audience. I always ask my guests if they have one question for me, even though I shared already a little bit. Do you have a question for me, Liz?
Oh, yeah. I mean, okay. So at what point did you realize that you no longer want to be a digital nomad?
I. Okay, so I thought that this sort of happened when I fell madly in love with my current partner who is not a digital nomad at all. He works in an office. But I think I was actually like, now looking back, I was already seeking this feeling of like, maybe I want to Create something a bit more permanent, maybe a place that I can. I can call home. And when I was nomading in Brazil and I was still, like, going around in Brazil, it's like itself, I found there a place where I felt sort of okay, but still not 100% okay. So it was a bit, like, painful when I. When I left Brazil so abruptly. And then when I met my partner, I was in Vienna, and I'd never been to Vienna. I didn't know anything about it. And I arrived in the summer, and then actually, the summer was amazing. Like, just. I just felt this instant groundedness. And I think that this is, for me, maybe the moment where I was like, this is the feeling that I want to feel. Like, this feels like freedom for me right now just to, like, be in a place. But the hook that got me in was this guy that I met and that is now my fiance. But, like, you know, like, it's just like, it was not. It. I wasn't on purpose. It wasn't looking for it. I was feeling it, but I didn't recognize the feeling in my body. Then it just sort of happened. But it needed to happen. And I think it happened because it just really needed to happen. But I don't know if. If it's connected to Vienna or is. You know what I mean? Like, maybe it could have been another place, but it was Vienna, and I'm here and I'm super happy. Yeah. But also, I think for a lot of nomads, and maybe you're a nomad listening to this podcast, or maybe you want to be. Become a nomad. Like, it's also okay to pause. It's okay to. To not like to say, okay, I'm going to do this for a year, or I'm going to do it for as long as I enjoy it, and then I stop. But I see a lot of nomads that told me this last year when I was still going to events, and those people that I talked to, they're still nomading quite intensely. But when I talk to them, they're like, I really want to find a base. So I can only say that what I should have could. What I would like to tell myself back then. If you have that feeling that you're like, I want to actually find that base, act on it. Don't like, like, pause for a moment. Like, skip a few nomads events, skip a few experiences, but just pause and then ask yourself, so where could I have freedom sensations? Because I didn't listen to. To my to that gut feeling. And I have not listened to that gut feeling also in my business for a long time. Time. And now looking back, I'm like, I knew that this is. Was going to be. I knew that, that I was not going to feel great here. I knew that this breakup was going to happen, you know?
Yeah, yeah.
No, came over with a big identity crisis afterwards. So that's why I'm like, really like, okay, alignment. Alignment.
Yeah. Well, well done for like A, finally listening, B, realigning and see, you know, like just having the courage to keep on persevering.
Yeah, you have to have a bit of courage and you also have to just smile about it.
Like, definitely. Yes. Just remember to not take anything too seriously. That's really important.
What I also love about our conversations and like, also the image, like the messages and everything. It's like, yeah, like it's fun and it's so beautiful and so soulful and holistic and all of these things to go after your dreams, but also like, like take a chill pill, like.
Yes, yes.
Because it's so. It is so challenging already. So if you're like going too tight and be less playful, then it's going to be even more intense.
Yeah, it gets heavy, have a bit.
Of playfulness in it. That's why I love the podcast and I'm happy it's back because this is also a playground for me. So.
Yes.
Yay.
Cool.
