David Price here, the short guy who helps you walk tall. This is confidence tip number 116. Have an exit line ready. So picture this, you're in a networking group or a meeting or a function, and you need to or want to leave. Work out before what you're going to say. If you haven't worked it out, you'll come over as awkward. But if you've thought about it, then it'll come over perfectly well. You might say, well, I need to get off to another meeting, or I have to pick up my kids. I have another meeting. Oh, look at the time. I'm going to miss my bus. Doesn't really matter. Just work out a polite, believable exit line and have it ready to go.
