This is confidence tip number 43. Don't try and win the room. If you focus on winning the room, then you're probably creating a false impression with people. It's much better to make meaningful, authentic connections with people rather than trying to win the room. Don't go in with the attitude that, okay, I'm here, I'm going to be confident, and I'm going to win all of these people over. That's not necessarily going to work. It would be better to walk in thinking, I'm here, I'm going to connect with 2 or 3 significant people, or people who I know are supportive of me. And through that, you will build your confidence. Don't try and win the room. Be yourself. Be real. Be authentic.
