Hi, I'm David Price, the short guy who helps you walk tall, and here's confidence tip number 73. Could you imagine telling a story like the 3 Bears or the 3 Little Pigs to a small child in a monotone voice? It wouldn't work. They wouldn't want to listen. So when you hear people tell stories to little kids, they use their voice and they go up and they go down and they all sorts of things with their voice. Now, while you don't need to go overboard like you may with a small child, when you're speaking to people, it is much more effective if you make your voice varied, not monotone. The most compelling speakers shift their pitch and their pace to make it interesting. It makes you sound really confident. If you're ever in the situation where you're speaking, as you will be— that's probably one of the reasons you're here— vary your voice as much as you possibly We can.
