I've been working in the area of meetings for 40 years. I've seen every type of meeting. I've seen every type of person who comes to a meeting. And so I work with organisations who need an impartial, independent chair. The people that hire me are council of owners groups or strata managers, local government for public meetings, not-for-profits for challenging meetings. And the reasons that they choose me are these: my background equips me to be able to manage and control a meeting without being dictatorial. Because I'm impartial, I treat everyone equally and fairly, and I move the meeting to find the common ground and collaborative solutions. I've authored several books on meetings and meeting procedures, so I can interpret rules and procedures and apply them fairly and appropriately. I'm a qualified company secretary, so I know what compliance means, and I know which boxes need to be ticked when and how.
