In this introductory video, David Julian Price explains his approach as a speaking coach. He emphasizes a personalized, non‑formulaic method that works with each client’s unique personality and goals rather than trying to clone another speaker. He notes that session counts vary, with most clients needing four to five sessions to fully develop their presenting style. Price describes himself as informal, flexible, and experienced—over 35 years in coaching—while positioning his rates above the cheapest options. He highlights his efficient, no‑waste‑time style, balanced with relaxed moments, and outlines the range of presentation contexts he can prepare clients for, including formal meetings, keynote speeches, breakout sessions, and training workshops. The video serves as a persuasive invitation for prospective clients to consider working with him.

If you're watching this video, you're probably considering engaging me as your speaking coach. Thank you for that. Let me tell you a little about how I work. The most important thing for you to know is that I work with you. I don't try to clone you. I don't try to make you into something like me or like any other speaker that you may know. It's you that we work with— your personality, your idiosyncrasies, The way that you want to present so that you present well to achieve the purpose that you want. The second thing that's really important for you to know is I don't have a formula. I don't bring you in and take you through a formula. I don't believe in formulas because every person is different and you are different to any other client that I've had. Your purpose may be similar. But you are a different person. And we need to bring out the person that's sitting inside of you so that that person can reach out to the audience and engage and achieve the purpose that you want. The number of sessions is really impossible to estimate. Some people come for just one session. Not many. Some people come for 2 or 3. Most people come for 4 or 5, because it takes 4 or 5 sessions to really delve in and build the you that you want to be as a presenter. I'm very informal. I'm very flexible. I'm easy to get along with. And I really enjoy watching people grow and become great presenters. I'm not the least expensive coach in town. But I've been around a long time. I've been around over 35 years coaching people. And I know what works. We don't waste any time. That doesn't mean that we don't sit and relax and have a coffee, sometimes a wine. But we don't waste any time. We get straight into it. And we really start building you to be the presenter that you want to be for the situations you may find yourself in. Many people have several situations and they need to be a different style for each. For instance, some people may need to present to a formal meeting. Others may want to present as a keynote speaker at a conference or present a breakout session or a training workshop. They're all very different needs and they have different requirements. We'll work on whatever you need to do. So thanks again for considering me. I hope that we can work together. I really enjoy working with people, and I'd enjoy working with you.
