Floor Jansen, Nightwish's vocalist, recalls being terrified before her first show three and a half years earlier, so scared she was "shitting her pants." The Seattle crowd's warmth helped her through it. She thanks the band, crew, and fans for the best years of her life.
3 and a half years ago.
Just 2 days before that show, I was flown in. Can you join? Do you know the lyrics? It's a 90-minute set. Maybe some of you have seen the documentary we made out of this whole story, but today am I that it doesn't need that much explanation. Why, the last time I was standing right behind the stage here, 3 and a half years ago, I was shitting my pants. I don't think I've ever been more afraid. And I just said that in front of you all. Well, anyway, I did. I was so terrified. And I came on stage not really knowing what I was doing, and I was welcomed by you people so warmly. And now again, 3 and a half years later, Seattle, thank you. I cannot tell you how much that means. But not only that, a bunch of Finns and a funny, funny guy, sweetheart from the UK, they were all in on it. And I want to thank them for the most fantastic 3 and a half years of my life. Thank you guys, I love you dearly. And not only the guys here on stage, in the crew too. You guys are fantastic. Thank you for welcoming me on board and giving me the best 3 and a half years of my life. Give it up for them!
Tatjana, we knew— I was pretty sure before that happened even, when you were coming over, that you're the one who doesn't cut the cheese, you cut the throats.
Thank you, Marco. Wow. Oh, before I start to cry or something, I want to thank you again for coming here all tonight, and I want to hear a big, big, big, big, big scream from you because we would like to play a very old song next.
You got it, guys! Say hello, thank you! This one is for you, Stargazers! Thank you.
