Quick Lumia 920 and Lumia 1020 Comparison (Initial Impressions)

The Lumia 1020's camera bump makes it rock on a table, but the phone feels lighter and snappier than the 920. Its buttons are better, the screen brighter, and photos show dramatic improvements in color and brightness.

Hello, this video will be a quick comparison on the Nokia Lumia 920 and the Nokia Lumia 1020. This is going to be purely just the physical, how it feels physically, and very service-y beginning impressions because I obviously just got this phone today and won't be able to give a really full analysis until a little bit later on. But in upgrading to the 1020 I was a little bit apprehensive about a few things, one of those being the camera on the back makes it so when you set it on the table, on a table, on a surface, it's angled. And that's something that is obvious. When you get the Charge Plate, perhaps this will change, but for now it just kind of has that angle, whereas on the 920 you don't really get that as much. And the more weightiness of the 920 makes it a little bit easier to use it on. Whereas you've seen like this sliding around a little bit. That's not bad on the 1020 actually, but if you were to swipe left and right, it's like a little bit more difficult. Um, but the— but as far as the hardware buttons are concerned, they feel a lot nicer on the 1020 by a long shot, in my opinion. They stick out a little more, they're a little more comfortable, they just feel like they're a little bit more high quality when you press them. And the matte finish is really nice. If you have the Cyan 920 like here, you'll know a little bit what that feels like. And as far as how it feels, another issue I was thinking about was having a comfortable place to put your index finger behind the phone, whereas you might bump into it back here. Actually, I haven't really noticed too much. Holding it with two hands is fine. One hand will take a little getting used to. You'll either put it on this side or this side. I have ended up switching off. But anyway, actually the quickness, even in this initial use of the phone, I've noticed is a little faster. Just for example, double tap on GDR2, it comes out a little bit faster on the 1020. Um, but yeah, other than that, they're fairly similar, as you might expect. The camera is loads better on this, but I've only taken a few pictures. Um, let's just for fun compare some similar ones. I didn't actually take these at the same time, um, but they're similar-ish enough. Yeah, so again, it's difficult to see on this video, but this captured a lot more of the color, a lot more of the the brightness. That's the last one I took on this, but just really, really good pictures. You can't really see how awesome it is, but these pictures are really awesome and really good. So you can really tell the difference. Like, as soon as I took it, I was like, wow, this is a better camera. Um, but yeah, I can tell the screen's a lot brighter, looks a lot nicer from different angles. Less so on the 920. Love AMOLED. Um, so yeah, I would definitely say it's worth the upgrade.
