Annalise Stack left corporate real estate to start a sustainability business. She credits a structured entrepreneurial program with turning her idea into a real product: little green room in a box, from design through sourcing and pricing. I knew I did not want to go back to a corporate setting. The future was too uncertain and it was time to start my own business, launch something that was successful. So I picked up all the pieces of my real estate, my hotel development background, my sustainability, my LEED certification, and always knew that I wanted to do something with that. I wanted to help families to create healthy homes. Although I have an MBA in sustainability, which of course is very helpful, I do believe that I learned more during this program. There was accountability with this program, and having to sign up, having to do modulars, having to create a new business plan and go through each step with an entire team of entrepreneurs and a coach would be invaluable to me. And I realized the way I could help people the most was creating this product, which was my little green room in a box. It is such a daunting task to figure out how to start. So I was able to walk through every step of the process, from designing my box to creating the inventory and the content, sourcing my materials, pricing everything that I needed, and each piece of that came from a different step of the program. And I realized that anybody can launch a product. I was overthinking it, and once I started it, everything fell in place the way I would like it.
