Laura and her husband left their careers to become TAB franchisees in Denver, splitting clients and boards between them. She credits TAB's collaborative culture for breaking through the isolation business owners face, though she notes member growth takes longer than expected.

You I was at a place in my career where I was ready for a change. And I was also had talked many times with my husband about owning a business with him. And so we were starting to really look at seriously at making a change when we learned about Tab. We have been very successful in this area. We work together very autonomously. Tab really supports that very autonomous work. For example, he has his clients, I have my clients, he has his boards, I have my boards. And we each have different set of skills. So we look at everything from a different perspective. And so we're able to actually help each other deliver even better skills, service to our clients than we would on our own. I would say that the community of Tab is the strongest thing that defines that culture, this willingness to help each other out. It's an interesting environment to be in with, in a community where everyone has basically the same job and everyone does it differently and no one's competing with you. Because I work with business owners every day. I see the isolation, I see the lack of confidence about making decisions because they don't have anybody to kind of run them by that has experience that is a peer of theirs. It often takes longer than you think it's going to. For all the sales to happen to, to for new members to join, things like that. And you have to keep at it and to know, absolutely know that it will work if you keep at it. You also need to have sales skills, you need to have facilitation skills, and you need to have coaching skills. Skills. Well, and then the fourth is you need to have business skills. So all of those come together into a very unique package, but a very satisfying and a job that is, you know, you get to do so many different things and you get to learn about so many different businesses. So it's really rewarding. Our overarching vision is to really impact the business community in Denver and Southern Colorado in a positive way. So support that private business growth that is the foundation of our economy and to have continuously fulfilling work for ourselves. So we have that now and we're expanding it to the next level.
