How Are You Using Video In Your Business?

David Vogel explains why video is essential for business: it's the most-viewed social content and smartphones make it simple. The main obstacles are camera fear and not knowing where to start. His advice: accept your first video will be rough, practice with 10-second clips you can delete, then gradually go public.

How are you? Wait, what? Sorry, that's my daughter Morgan's favorite expression. I had to throw it in. So you aren't using video in your business? You do realize that video is hotter than ever. You're familiar with YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. And that video gets more views than anything else on social media. My name is David Vogel. I'm the owner of Remote Video Testimonials, where we term business owners and their customers into movie stars with profile videos and testimonial videos that are done remotely from anywhere in the country. Today is day seven of my 30 day video challenge. For the entire month of April, I'm going to create a video a day with the hopes of inspiring you in your life, both personally and professionally. I continue to be amazed by how many businesses are still not using video. In your pocket you have a smartphone that can shoot video almost as good as that shot with a $10,000 video camera. And just like I'm doing right now, you could shoot a video and have it seen online in just minutes. So why are most businesses sitting on the sidelines? Hey, I get it. You don't want to be in front of the camera. You don't like how you look or sound on video. Well, here's the thing. That is what everyone else sees and hears every single day. And if they're okay with it, why can't you? The bigger reason that businesses aren't using video is overwhelm. They don't know where to start. So let me help you. First, I'm going to tell you a little secret. The first video you create, it's going to suck. When have you ever been great at something? The very first time. I never wanted to be in front of the camera, but here I am. You think it is how I was that very first time? No. Not only is your business a brand, they that you need to promote. But you are a brand as well. People buy from people. So to help you build your confidence, start small. All I want you to do is shoot a 10 second video. That's not so hard. Talk about anything you want, record it, watch it and see what you can improve. And then delete it. No one ever has to see it. And when you've done that enough times that you feel comfortable, share it and see what happens. I hope you found this information helpful. Thanks for watching in the comments. Let me know what is preventing you from making videos in your business. And if you'd like to learn more about how video can help you in your own business today, just reach out. And lastly, please follow me and be sure to like and share this post and I'll see you tomorrow.
