How Has Technology Made Video Easier and More Affordable?

David Vogel shows how remote video technology cuts costs and travel. A CEO in Uruguay filmed a client testimonial in Houston via smartphone, capturing 1080p/4K footage that edited into a polished video. No flights needed.

Today we're changing things up with a little show and tell. My name is David Vogel. I'm a video marketer. But today I'm going to be Professor Vogel. As we're going to be having an international geography lesson today, I'm going to just show you how small the world is and how far technology has come to make video easier and more affordable for businesses. So this atlas has probably been living in the basement of our house for 15 years. We got it for our kids when they were in elementary school and middle school, hoping that it would be helping them with their studies. I don't think they ever used it. Well, today I'm taking it out and I get to use it. So I'm going to tell you a little story about something that happened a few weeks ago. So the CEO of a mobile app development firm in Uruguay reached out to me a few weeks ago. And so just to kind of give you a sense of where that is. So here's South America. We're probably all rusty on our, on our geography. Well, Uruguay is right here. It is just east of Argentina. The small country is right here, this green section. So I got a lead from the CEO. He was interested in getting a video testimonial. So here again, here's North America and here's the United States, and here is New York, where I am. And he had a client down here in Texas, in Houston, Texas, that he wanted a client video testimonial. Now, just as a frame of reference, 10 years ago, if he wanted us to do that, we would have had to get on a plane from New York, fly to Houston, Texas, maybe the night before and the next day interview the client and then fly back. And just with all that travel, it would easily cost twice as much had it been someone in the tri state area. And that, you know, a video like that would probably be like $2,500 to travel. 5,000. So of course he could use a local videographer in Houston. But again, you're probably talking about $2,500. So how were we able to help this client without having to travel all the way to Houston, Texas? And so what's really great about our remote video technology is that using a smartphone and a mobile app, we're able to interview any client anywhere in the country, if not the world, directly through their smartphone. And the quality is just as good as if I were to be in front of you, filming you with my smartphone right now. And so what's really great is that this client was able to schedule a time at her convenience and literally in a matter of 30 minutes, I asked her several questions, probably about a dozen questions, and then we were able to take those answers and turn that into a two minute video testimony. I'll show you a little piece of it right now.
They just took my vision and went so, so far beyond what I could have imagined. It was phenomenal. The colors, the design, the functionality, everything was exactly how I had envisioned and 10 times better.
So you just got to see a small piece of the video test mode. Again, the link to the full video will be in the comments below. But you can see, quality wise, you wouldn't even know this was shot with a smartphone. They look great. The quality is really good. You could shoot in 1080p or 4K. And more importantly, it really comes down to the storytelling and the editing. And just because it's done remotely doesn't mean we don't follow that same process. It's still interview based and professionally edited. And so it's not only that it's easier for the client, but they're still able to get the same quality video and it's just as effective as a video testimonial. So I encourage you to check out the full video below. But that gives you a little sense of what we do. So the world has gotten so small that really any business anywhere today can be creating professional quality video thanks to remote video. And I also encourage you take out your phone and shoot your own DIY videos yourself. Hopefully you found this video helpful. Gives you a little bit of taste of what these videos look like. If you have any questions about creating videos for your business, feel free to message me here. And this is day 27 of my 30 day video challenge. Got only a few days left, so please be sure to like and share this video and I'll see you tomorrow.
