Timing Is Everything When It Comes to Client Video Testimonials

David Vogel explains why you should ask clients for video testimonials right after a project ends or a major win, when they're most positive and remember details. Testimonials build trust and work across websites, social media, sales decks, and prospect emails.

We are all familiar with the saying, timing is everything. When I was in my early 20s, I moved out to Hollywood to break into the visual effects industry. I was working on my first feature film when I got food poisoning from craft services Home recovering, I got a phone call from Roger Dorney, the special effects supervisor at Apogee Productions. For those of you who don't know Apogee, it was started by the crew that worked on the original Star wars movies. They did include Caddyshack, Spaceball, Star Trek, just to name a few. So getting a call from Roger was a big deal. He asked if I could come in for a job interview. Now, I was sick as a dog, but I knew I wouldn't get another chance. So I found the strength, went to the interview and got the job on the spot. As my friend Crystal Barrows reminded me this morning, you have to be bold in life. That decision made my dream of working in visual effects a reality and and justify my decision to move to Hollywood. Now, I'm bringing this all up today because timing is everything and it does matter when it comes to getting video testimonials from your clients. My name is David Vogel. I'm the owner of Remote Video Testimonials and We use a 100% remote video production service where we capture video testimonials from your customers using a smartphone. We do this to build trust and generate more sales. Today is day 13 of my 30 day video challenge. For the entire month of April, I'll be creating a video a day with the hopes of inspiring you in your life, both personally and professionally. So the ideal time to get a video testimonial from a client is right after you complete a project for them or there is a major win as a result of working together. Now, when a client is praising you for the work you did or leaving a written review on Google, that is the moment when you should be asking if they'd be willing to do a video testimonial. Now remember, your customer is doing you a favor, so it is best to ask them when they're loving you and are willing to do anything to help. Now, I've seen it happen where a client waits too long and then I interview the customer who struggles to recall everything that happened. Now, if you're not using video testimonials in your business, you are giving your competition a huge advantage because they are. The good news is once you have them, you can add them to your website, you can share them on social media, you can include them in your sales presentations and email them to Prospects to build trust faster. If you found today's information helpful, please like and share this video. And if you'd like to learn more about client video testimonials, send me a message on LinkedIn or Facebook.
