David Vogel explains remote video production: recording footage when the subject and crew are in different locations using internet, webcams, and phones. Zoom and Skype work but compress quality and risk sync issues. His company uses a dedicated app to capture HD and 4K instead, letting them interview oncologists across Arizona and customers in Illinois and Texas without traveling.

I've been throwing around the term remote video like it's a common term and you probably have no idea what it means. It isn't video shot from a drone or video footage from your security camera. In this video, I'll explain what remote video is and how you can use it in your business. My name is David Vogel, owner of Remote Video Testimonials, where we help business owners build trust and close more sales with video testimonials and profile videos created using our 100% remote video production service. Today is day nine of my 30 day video challenge. For the entire month of April, I will create a video a day with the hopes of inspiring you in your life both personally and professionally. So what is remote video? Well, it's any video footage recorded where the subject and the video professionals are in two different physical locations. Thanks to the Internet, webcams and smartphones, you can capture video anywhere at any time. If you want to use remote video in your own business, you could use free video conferencing software like Zoom or Skype. Another option is using screen capture software like screenflow. These platforms allow you to record live video locally to your computer. Just note that the Internet speed dictates the video quality. Regardless of the speed, you will get video compression artifacts and you may have periods where the audio and video are out of sync. At Remote Video Testimonials, we use dedicated remote video recording software that allows us to record HD and 4K videos through a mobile app on your smartphone. The quality is the same as if I was standing in front of someone shooting with my smartphone in person. Remote video opens up possibilities for businesses who feel video is too time consuming, complicated and expensive to use. The best part about remote video production is that it allows you to shoot video anywhere in the country without being there physically. For example, last week I interviewed six oncologists to create doctor profile videos for their medical practice in Arizona. This week, I interviewed customers in Illinois and Texas to create customer testimonial videos. Now, I hope you found this information helpful. Thanks again for watching in the comments.
