From Cold to Closed: Accelerating Global Sales with AI-Powered Business Development Automation

Jeff Bush, CEO of BDR AI, demonstrates a platform that automates LinkedIn prospecting and outreach for B2B sales. It saves roughly 100 hours per month per rep and costs $500 to $5,500 monthly depending on features. One campaign sent 1,000 messages, generated 550 connections, and booked 22 meetings.

Jeff Bush is the CEO of BDR AI. He's going to share with us how we can accelerate global sales with AI powered Business Development automation. And I have to confess, I've been using BDR AI for a year and I love the solution, so take it away. Jeff.
Yeah, thanks for having me here today. Glad I'm. I'm the last guy, not the first guy presenting, but yeah. So 30 years of sales and marketing experience and you know, I've owned five different businesses and most of them were startups. Like I started them in my barn or my guest house and built it from me to, you know, 50, 60, 70 employees. And all of my experience of building 10, 20, $40 million companies was all adding salespeople doing marketing, lead generation. So I owned a mortgage company, I owned an ad agency, I own a direct mail company, I currently own a wedding venue that did 70 weddings last year, 40 acre property, myriad of California. And then BDR AI is my new big business that my brother and I are kind of building and scaling right now and really exciting.
You know, LinkedIn being an international phenomenon. I think I heard the other day there's 220 million LinkedIn profiles in the United States. So 71 of every 18 year old person and older has a LinkedIn account. And then you go to other parts of the world, it's even bigger in Australia, Spain, London. So we're onboarding clients internationally. It's kind of interesting from cold to close. So yeah, accelerating global sales with AI powered business development automation. So we're just using LinkedIn to connect buyers and sellers and creating very interesting messaging, getting very particular about our data. I owned an ad agency that did $40 million in sales and it was all direct response marketing. And I used to say if you have a good list and you make the right offer at the right time, that's when you win. So that's what I'm going to work on, is pulling the data, the right prospect list, the right message at the right time. And we're winning and a lot of our clients are winning. So excited to share this with you. So I'm the CEO Jeff Bush. I'm sitting in Murietta, California at my 40 acre ranch. So I have a home office and we're kind of running BDR out of our homes, which has been kind of fun, new, new, unique and different. So BDR AI always on prospecting. So some of the problems that we solve is, is really we're high level B2B lead generation. Most people don't know a lot about data. There's so much data out there. I mean, we have subscriptions to five different data services, I think, you know, Zoom info, selling.com, you know, Apollo, there's like five of them. But what's amazing about LinkedIn is LinkedIn has, I think, more data than anyone. And I know what college they went to, where they used to work, where they work now, who they're connected to. So I'm really enjoying LinkedIn data right now. And then cross referencing it with our other lists to get email addresses, cell phones, LinkedIn addresses.
And so we've got a really good data set so we can help our clients reach their target audience, their IC.
And basically what our little LinkedIn automation, you know, tool does is it saves a sales rep about a hundred hours a month is what it would take to manually do LinkedIn. What we're doing for $500 a month is saving them 100 hours. But we're also booking a lot of meetings on their calendar, qualified meetings, which I'm excited about. So I'm using the tool personally along with our sales team. And we're, we're learning every day. There's just some exciting things to it. The most exciting thing to me is every morning I wake up and I log in and I see that four people booked a meeting on my calendar and they're highly qualified. I never called them, I never emailed them, don't even know who they are. I got to read up. So, you know, LinkedIn and some of the things we're doing with AI is really exciting.
You know, we pulled some kind of average response rates like, okay, how many people accept a connection request on LinkedIn? Well, 25 to 45%. Well, I was 55% last month because I have the right list. I'm making a really strong offer. So we're crushing some of these numbers. You know, email response is pretty horrible. I used to send a hundred thousand emails a month for 10 years and I used to get 100 leads and I'd be lucky to get 10 leads from cold email outreach. Now even with a good list and a good offer, emails are just getting blocked. Spam filter junk. So LinkedIn has just been working really well to connect to high level B2B appointments, CEOs of 10, 20 $100 million companies.
So we look at all these ratios and try to improve them and find the right list, the right offer. We can do that. One of the things our tool does is it views their profile, likes their posts, endorses their skills. So every day I get responses on LinkedIn. Thanks for liking my post, thanks for endorsing my skills. But this is doing all this automatically. So we're sending connection requests, we're sending videos, we're sending emails. So we're just kind of maxing out what LinkedIn will do. And I personally did 27 demos on my calendar last month of high quality B2B prospects to sell my own product. My little, you know, software SaaS product, LinkedIn outreach, booking meetings. So that's some of the things our tool does.
You know, we upload some data, we send the connection request, we perform actions on their profile and then we get into sending messages. So this is not anything new. There's probably 10 companies out doing it and they're all doing it for 200amonth and I'm 500amonth. But I know how to make it work. I know how to find the right people and create the right messages because I'm a copywriting expert and I'm a data expert. So I can make this thing work where other people can't. So building out the sequence, the digital outreach. My new campaign is 27 steps. This is seven. This is simple, but I've kind of perfected it. And we're letting people copy my campaign because it's working extremely well.
We keep trying to reach out and connect with them. If they don't connect, we send them an email. Once they connect, kind of this whole sequencing that we do is really, really powerful and, and amazing to watch it. I never even used LinkedIn five years ago, I hated it. And now I own a LinkedIn marketing company and now I'm like, wow, I could do all this through LinkedIn and through the sequencing. So getting more and more excited about it, the more I dive into this.
Trying to watch the clock, make sure I'm staying on track. 10 slides in 10 minutes is tough, but every day I log in and I've got people not interested, people that are neutral and people that are interested. So five people interested. I move them to book a demo on my calendar and, and just focus on the warm, low hanging fruit leads. So high level B2B lead generation. Here's the hundred hours a month we save a sales rep, bdr, sdr, whatever you want to call the sales position that's out prospecting and booking meetings and doing demos and trying to sell business, you know, finding leads, scraping leads, connection requests, following up, organizing. The best compliments I get are when people connect with me three months ago and they go, jeff, I just booked a meeting on your Calendar. Thank you for being so persistent. And I'm laughing, I'm like, I'm not persistent. The tool is, the sequencing is keeping in touch with all my prospects. So when they're ready to buy, the timing's right, they book meetings on my calendar and I don't have to follow up and make phone calls and emails and LinkedIn manually every week, every month. And we know how important follow up is in sales. You know, 12 touches to get a sale. Most sales reps do three and then bail out. So this helps a sales rep be more consistent, which I love.
It's $500 a month for the product and I booked 20 meetings on my calendar that are pretty high quality meetings. I probably would have paid someone $5,000 to book these meetings. So I love the price, is pretty inexpensive. Once we connect to a thousand CEOs on LinkedIn and we get their cell phone numbers and we can dial all of them, call them and connect you with. We dial a ousand, we'll get 100 to pick up the phone and you say hello. And so dial. Dialing the phone is tough, but it still works. So LinkedIn plus phone calls. If you want to make the phone calls. Sorry. If you want to take the phone calls and talk to them yourself, it's 2500amonth. We can give you 100 conversations a week just using our high tech AI B2B dialers. Dialing the phone. If you want us to go hire some salespeople and train them on your script and us, you know, have our team dial for you, it's 5,500amonth. So three different packages. Last slide. I don't, I don't have a clock in front of me, so I'm sorry, I'm not used to going so quick. But we've got a special offer for selling power. BDR AI forward slash selling power. If you fill this out, we send you a whole bunch of free things, including this guide. We'd love to do one on one demos if somebody wants to take a look, see if we can make it work for your business. We've made it work for 50 different industries already and, you know, love to talk to people and download the free guide. You get a couple other things and I don't remember them all, so love to talk to you about it and see if we can help grow your sales. So there are. Did I do okay? Am I good?
How do people get in touch with you?
So the slide I'm sharing has a phone number and email address. If they fill out this form, we're going to call them. So you know, phone number, email address. I'm JeffDr AI, if you want to email me directly. But if you fill out this form, we're going to contact them and send them some things.
And, and I have a quick question. How many messages can you send out to LinkedIn connections? First degree versus second degree connections?
We're sending 200 messages a week. Cold. LinkedIn allows us, you know, a thousand for a five week month, but that's cold. I don't know if I have the answer to the difference between a first and a second degree connection because then it gets into. Do you have Sales Navigator? Do you pay the extra, you know, 30 or $40 a month? LinkedIn has five different programs now and each one has different limits. I would have to research to get you the right answer.
Right.
But LinkedIn Navigator, our product, you don't need LinkedIn Navigator, but it helps to do a better search on the data.
What you're saying is if you send out 20 messages a day, that's 140 a week, you have a good chance of getting about three to five meetings a week.
Yeah, that's a pretty good number. I sent a thousand messages last month. 550 connected with me. Connection requests. Out of the 550, I had probably 50 people message me. Out of the 50 that messaged me, I booked 22 meetings on my calendar. That was my numbers. But what I'm selling and what other someone else is selling could be different. You know, if you're selling a hundred thousand dollar subscription, it could be a little less. So it's kind of like we look at each industry, just we need to get you the right list, make the right offer, turn this thing on for 500 bucks a month and see how many meetings we book. And then we tweak it every month. Took me about 90 days to dial this in to where it's close to perfect for me, but always ways to improve it. So.
It'S a good idea to work smarter, not harder.
Yeah, yeah. Now does it integrate with all the different email platforms? So it's like Outlook or email?
We integrate with five different email platforms. Mailchimp, Vertical Response, Constant Contact. Yeah. Salesforce, Outlook, and then we integrate with three or four CRMs, HubSpot, Salesforce, Sugar.
Off the top of my head, we do some integrations. I mean we're not a huge company yet. It's been in business for seven years, but we just bought it six months ago and took it from 100 people to 300. And we're growing like crazy iron people. But it's so I. I don't have a CTO yet. So you're. You know, my brother's kind of the interim CTO until we find someone. So I don't know. All the integrations, we're building them out. Every month we have a new client that wants to integrate with something else. That's fun. We're working on all that and trying to keep up.
So.
Congratulations. I mean, it's very exciting to see. I know. I run the sales program at Bryant University, and we're trying to adapt and figure out, gosh, you know, what are we preparing our students for, what kind of jobs? Because they used to be in the BDR SDR role. Now I wonder, are they going to be managing a tool like this and having more of an account executive role or, you know, maybe we need to get them to start using something like this so that they can understand how it's all working.
I was at a software conference in Austin a few months ago, and Everybody that saw BDR, AI. Oh, you're selling sales reps. You have BDRs for sale. So there's companies out there for 2500 bucks a month instead of five grand a month higher. An AI BDR is kind of frightening. Like, the telemarketer might be going away. They're not that good yet. They really aren't. And we don't do that. Although we're looking at it because people want it. But it's like we haven't quite replaced human beings that have a little thought about what they're going to say next in sales. But it seems like it's moving that direction. I mean, Salesforce, if you see what they're doing with AI right now, it's pretty crazy. I think we're going to see a whole new world every year for forever, right? It's never going to stop. So what do you train people to? To be aware of what's going to be the future. You know, it's changing so fast. It's pretty crazy, you know?
That's right. That's right. Very exciting stuff. Now, Gerhard, I heard from a little birdie that you might have a special offer to share.
Yes, I'd love to share that, but I want to say thank you to Jeff for joining us today and making this special offer to our audience. And I hope a lot of people will take advantage of that. Thank you so much.
Thank you.
