This is a YouTube video titled "Better to Ask up front, then get Stuck later #homebuyer #homeloans #firsttimehomebuyer #fhaloan" containing a monologue from January 26, 2023, explaining the loan application process. The speaker discusses the importance of providing documents and answering questions early to ensure a smooth loan underwriting process, emphasizing professionalism in lending.
When reviewing your application, if we ask questions or if we ask for documents up front, keep in mind we're only doing that to make sure your loan goes smooth. We're only in business if we close loans, so we're not here to derail your financing. But we know the process that a loan has to go through. All loans have to go through underwriting. We know what questions are going to happen. Think of it like underwriting is like a court case and we're the lawyer helping navigate you through that. So we know how an underwriter looks at things. And we're here to keep the good stuff in, the bad stuff out, to keep less questions down the road. So it's easier to ask for a little bit of questions and documents up front as opposed to trying to dig ourselves out of a hole later because we didn't ask you the appropriate questions up front. That's the difference between a professional lender and not a professional lender. So, sure, some places will slap out a pre approval and they don't even hardly ask anything. The questions are coming. They're just going to come bigger and more difficult later on. And that's not what you want. We want to be thorough up front so you have a smooth loan through the finish line. So if we're asking for questions on a deposit or child support or divorce decree or updated pay stubs only because we want to help.
