This is a YouTube video titled "🚨 Choosing Your Lender a Bigger Deal these Days 🚨" containing a monologue by Trathen Heckman discussing recent trends in the mortgage market, focusing on differences between big banks and lean brokers in terms of overhead, rates, and client offerings. With the recent trends in the mortgage market, it's actually created a bigger divide into what banks and lenders can offer their clients. The big banks, big lenders have super high overhead, a lot of extra cost, so when there's not as many refis to go around, it's tough to find a home. On the purchase side, less transactions mean they have to profit more on each one and they're laying off a ton of employees. Whereas the super lean brokers like myself, we're capped at a super lean, super thin margin. So we have to keep our rates super competitive. This is creating a huge difference in what clients are seeing as far as rates go.
