But while there are some challenges, the opportunity may be well worth the effort. Many housing experts are forecasting continued home price appreciation this year and beyond. Let's look at an example. If you were to purchase a $400,000 home today, and home values continue to increase at the same pace of 15 to 20% as predicted, you would have 60 to $80,000 in appreciation over just the next year alone.
