This is a YouTube video titled "JOB LOSSES COULD MEAN BIGGER SAVINGS?!" containing a monologue or presentation from February 7, 2025, discussing the impact of job losses and unemployment trends on mortgage rates, explaining how economic weakness and inflation influence mortgage rates in early 2025. The content is a single-speaker analysis without multiple participants.
New signs for lower mortgage rates in 2025. So we talked before about how high inflation is bad for mortgage rates but low inflation in a weak economy is good for mortgage rates. You might have heard there's been quite a few job closings like Party City, CVS, Walgreens, 711 and many more. And the numbers you see here, those are the number of stores that are closed. So just imagine how many employees this impacts. Now we don't like this for anybody. I'm just reporting on a mortgage perspective. This is good for mortgage rates when these numbers come out. So if early 2025 they start to announce the unemployment that'll help we economy and that actually helps mortgage rates. And the length of time people are on unemployment is now ten and a half weeks on average. That's up 21% from last year. So not only are people losing more jobs but it's tougher to find new jobs again we don't like this for anybody but it is a sign mortgage rates could get better beginning of 2025.
