A speaker reflects on navigating industry challenges after COVID, emphasizing the hard work and adaptation required to survive difficult times. The advice centers on resilience and the reality of what it takes to keep going when conditions are tough.
Put your head down and go to work. I mean, ultimately, we can't control that. I know it's the cliche thing to say, but what are our options? Do we want to stay in this industry or do we not? And I think, if anything, there's been more of a divide. There's been people that have jumped on that ship and they've separated themselves, and some people kind of curled up and went and got a second job or something. You know, it's like, how serious are we going to take it? Ultimately, we know that this is ups and downs. We know the 2020, the COVID years weren't sustainable forever. Like, everybody made a ton of money. I think of it as there's one choice. We just got to work harder. We know it's not going to be this way forever. Our industry has definitely, like, you shaved down a bunch. But imagine as things are getting busier here, there's way, way less mouths to feed. It's better for everybody in the industry.
