Media wants you to believe the housing market is collapsing. But here's what they're not telling you. You might have seen some of the headlines about foreclosures were up 14% in 2025. That sounds pretty scary. It makes you want to hesitate on buying a house, right? But here's what they're not telling you. They're using fear and percentages to mislead you. So sure, foreclosures did go up 14% in 2025. However, that went from 0.23% of houses to 0.26% of houses that were in foreclosure. We're still at the all time record lows with the exception of COVID years when there was a moratorium where you couldn't forec people. So of course there weren't foreclosures then. If you compare this where there actually was issues in 2009 after the big housing collapse, at that point there were 2.23% of homes foreclosed. That was almost 10 times higher. Bottom line, foreclosures are low, the housing market's strong rates are dropping. It's a really healthy time in the housing market.
