Derek Cole shows how to lock your thermostat to stop family members from changing the temperature. Newer thermostats have lock codes, and Wi-Fi models let you adjust the temperature from your phone anytime, anywhere, which can lower your energy bills.
Have you battled with your family over the thermostat? A lot of the newer thermostats actually have lock codes built into the software, so you can actually lock out the kids or spouse from changing the thermostat temperature, and you can keep it where you want it. So they can go up, they can go down, it's never going to change. Even better is a Wi-Fi thermostat. You can lock them out, but when you're not home, you can go to your phone, to your tablet, and actually play with the temperature yourself and really make a difference in your energy bill because you have full control. 24/7.
