Good morning, good morning. It's Tuesday morning, so I'm headed to Pinehurst for my meeting. I'm gonna eat my protein bars, and it's always the same, D-Tour Simple protein bars. What's good about those is it's very high protein, very low sugar. One thing you have to worry about with MS is not to have too much sugar throughout the day, especially artificial sugar, not like, you know, fruit sugar. So sugar intake, vitamin D, that's kind of the main concerns we're going on. So every morning I also take a vitamin D2 vitamin D gummies to take care of that. So high protein diet, and I'm kind of addicted to this water with strawberry flavoring, so We all have our problems, right? Hey guys, Derek Cole here. The main problem we see any season is dirt.
Yeah, yeah, said I was raised in the days of MySpace and screen names. Back then when I was only worried about my top friends. Now my circle is getting smaller, all these people acting fake, man. And to be honest, I don't even have a top 10. Me against the world, I've been doing what I really love. Haters been hiding behind the screen, man, they movie cuts. And when I'm back at home, it never feels the same, 'cause we've been doing our own thing, trying to stay up.
I wanna go back to days As I'm sitting here watching people go into the meeting before I get out, I'm thinking the majority of this meeting and, and a lot of meetings I go to are— they're small business owners. And there is no quick win, there is no instant fame, there is no get-rich-quick scheme going on. It's just a constant daily grind into what you'd love to do. And what you— if you have the audacity or the want to live the life you want to live on your terms, You have to pay the price, and that's owning a small business. I mean, it's constant every single day of getting punched in the face and taking the licks, and you keep moving forward. There's nothing, you know, fancy, glamorous about it, but it's doing what you want to do. And if you want to do what you want to do and you want to run your life and your business and your passion, the way you want to run it, then that's a price of entry. I mean, that's to be expected. So don't think for one second that owning a business or having a small business is the easy way out versus working somewhere else. So if you're an entrepreneur and you want this kind of life, that's great and go for it, but just know that It's a grind. It's day in, it's day out. I mean, I've been doing these videos and marketing for, you know, a couple years now, and there's like 300-some videos on YouTube now. So it wasn't, it wasn't, uh, okay, today I'm gonna make videos on YouTube, and then all of a sudden you got 300 videos. No, it's a 2-year process of almost every day of just grinding it out and making the content and making the videos. Going to these networking things and shaking hands and passing out cards and, and, and talking to all these people about your business. I mean, it's a daily push, but then again, if you're passionate about it and you want to do it, it's something that you should go for. But I just— there's so many people not patient, wanting immediate results, and You know, that's, that's not the case in Bustertown. That's not the case. So, so if you want to go for your passion, if you want to open a business, that's great, go for it. But just have the patience, uh, for the long term and, and what it's going to take.
I've been wondering where the party at, cause all of my concerns got me wondering where they got the Bacardi at. So going for another drink just to get away, we gotta live it up, Carolina here to stay.
Driving back to the office from Pinehurst, and I kind of want to address this. I think I might have talked about it before, but I get quite a few questions on, uh, when we shoot a video, what kind of camera we use or lighting or whatever. But for the first, you know, 4, almost 5 months of shooting videos, I just did it with my phone. And that's what I'm doing right now, it's just with my phone. So, um, I don't want that— I don't want you to use that as an excuse for why you're not starting. Um, so the reason I say go ahead and use your phone is because You know, just get, get started. I mean, so there's so much thinking about it and, and how do I want to shoot the angles and, and just do it. Just get started. There's nothing that will relieve your anxiety to be in front of the camera until you get started. So don't, you know, don't focus on the mics, don't focus on the lights, don't focus on the camera. I mean, this right here is not, you know, the best camera angle ever. You know, it's, uh, it's my phone, it's why I'm driving. So I mean, you do what you have to do, just put out the content, put out the information. So I don't want you guys to get hung up on, um, what it's shot with and the angle it's shot with. I just want you to get started. I mean, getting started and getting the ball rolling will make you feel better. So once you get started and you get comfortable, then worry about get a better camera or better lighting or whatever, but just, just start.
