Day In The Life Of an eCom Entrepreneur - EP 1

This is a YouTube video titled "Day In The Life Of an eCom Entrepreneur - EP 1" created in July 2024. It features Devin Zander and his wife Patricia documenting a casual vlog-style road trip to Boca Grande and Gasparilla Island. The content includes their experiences exploring the beach, local sites, food, and discussing personal anecdotes and business updates, providing a personal and entrepreneurial lifestyle glimpse.
All right, we're headed to Boca Grande. It is 8:08 in the morning. We've never been there. We discovered this place on Instagram yesterday. And by we, I mean me and my wife Patricia, who's too scared to show herself on camera. Why don't you try? No. So we're headed out, gonna check out the beach and stuff. We're on the skyway right now. We got some kratom, you know, we got everything we need for a road trip. We're on autopilot. We might die because recording and driving, very dangerous. Don't do it at home. But yeah, we're up at the top of the bridge, so everything's looking well, not great because there's a big fence up. It's cuz people kill theirselves here, which is funny.
Just smart, bab.
All right, guys, we are here. It's been like an hour and a half. Just paid a $6 toll, which, by the way, is the most expensive toll I think I've never paid. But I don't know. You guys can see out there. Maybe Patty can lift it up a little bit. They got the abandoned railroad out there, which is supposed to be beautiful. Good fishing. I don't know. Not quite a fisherman myself. Being vegan all this year has kind of scared me. But we're at Boca Gr Grande Grande for the Spanish people. Oh, man. What's. What's the island called?
It's called Gasparilla Island. So we're heading there now and we're.
Going to check out, see everything. Hour and a half, six dollars paid. We are committed now. Okay? We're going to get the most out of our $6. We got libraries, beaches, patty with some LOLs, you know, the whole thing. But we got like, we're on the island now. First stop is a coffee shop. And I think we got to decide do we want to either open the be or check out the city and walk around first. But if you show everyone Patty here, this is it. And something crazy about this island is the average home here is worth like $3.5 million. So for all you paupers, peasants, and lazy motherfuckers, not for you. But you know, I don't have a house here either, so I can't say much. But yeah, we'll see you guys soon. Okay, we arrived, we're here. We decided to go to a coffee shop first. It's right behind us. It looks. It looks like an association building for some island. Bella Vida, Boca Grande. Check it out. We're gonna get some food Some cold brew. I don't know. They got acai bowls. This lady has been dying for acai since we moved. Why is that? Why don't you get the acai fix taken care of anymore?
We're just not within walking distance.
Yeah, we don't live next to Soho Juice Company anymore. And since we moved downtown, we have vowed never to drive to any neighborhood. But here we are now, we're like 90 miles away. But it's okay. Let's go try it out. All right, we got coffee. We also ordered food, but it's gonna take 30 minutes, which is a little insane for a coffee shop. But I mean, while we wait, we walk around. We're actually on the golf cart path right now, like, which is interesting. And then my wife's over here looking hot. She's got her coffee that reminds her of being a little girl. That's what you said. Nuance and stuff. That's what she said. Well, now we just kill time, wait for the food. Then what do you think, babe? Are we hitting the beach first or are we gonna walk around?
I think hitting the beach gets too hot.
Yes. She cannot last more than 10 minutes. Her Greek complexion not made for the sun, believe it or not. So us white people from Michigan got better skin and whatever than Greek people. You heard it here first. And I assume the beach is down there, so we'll be figuring it out. But we're changing under the blanket or the whatever. But we got Joe Biden in the car right behind us staring. Okay, this is supposed to be an easy job.
It seems highly.
All right, but now we can't. Cuz Joe Biden out there sniffing through the window, he smells. I don't know, something. I don't know what that guy smells. He's a pervert. All right, that's all. That's all we know. All right, it's time to hit the beach. She's changed. All right? We just sat down at the beach, we made it to the water, we walked all around, we looked for the best spot for swimming. There's like a little swimming cove right here where it's blocked in by rocks. Maybe you can see it's like a little built in swimming pool, but a dude's fishing there, you know, real selfish behavior. So we might not swim there. Anyways, Patty's ready to hit the water. But first we thought we would do a coffee review for the coffee place. So Patty, you said it reminded you of your childhood. How do you feel? What do we rate it?
The reason it reminds me of My childhood is because my mom used to get these really sweet iced coffee drinks, and I would always sneak sips whenever she'd leave us in the car.
She's a sip sneaker.
It was the 90s. We were allowed to be in the car.
Yeah, I mean, it's like 100 degrees out. It's good for your character. Okay.
The coffee itself was really fucking good. But the coffee shop, I'd probably give a 5 out of 10.
I would give the coffee shop a 5 out of 10 as well. Sandwiches. Interesting. Sweet. Bacon. Multigrain, whole grain bread. It's okay. Coffee. Okay. You know, we got bandit in St. Pete. That shit is fire. So it's hard to compete, but I think that we got to shut up now. So Kaiser gets in before she kills me. We got the American flag out here. Fourth of July just passed. Life is good. Ladies and gentlemen, we are out here. All right, we're going in. Water's looking clear. Not too. I'm. Dude, a great white shark was just, like, up on the shore. It just washed up on the shore a couple cities over. So I'm a little scared. There's a bunch of fish. This is, like, the first time I've gone in the water in, like, months. I'm doing it just in the video. I'm gonna dip my head. Soon we'll be in Greece. Luckily, sharks don't attack there. Sharks are nice. They're more refined. They drink wine. They're cultured. I'm gonna go underwater so we can try this. Hopefully it doesn't break the camera. We're still recording. And we are. Oh, nice and wet. Okay. Usually it takes me a while to get Patty wet, but as you can see out here today, all it took was taking her to the beach. Oh, yeah. All right. I'm gonna get out of this water before I die. There's probably a million sharks in here. Let's go. All right, guys, out here on the beach. Checking the store stats at 10am currently at $2,181 in sales. Not bad. Bit of a slower start than yesterday. But you know what? At the beach, who cares? Good money's being made. We can look. Yesterday, 13K. I think we can beat it today. We'll see, you know, Sundays, slow days maybe, unless it's a holiday. So ready for the week. Ready for the summer. Gonna be a big one. Try to hit $2 million in sales over 60 days while Patty and I are over in Greece. But, you know, for now, time to read some books. Welcome to the Babiverse Nice little sci fi, like, three chapters in. So I don't have a book report yet, but soon maybe, you know. Anyways, let's enjoy the beach. Let's read some books, baby.
Let's do it.
All right, so I wanted to give you guys, like, a lot of history about the island, but honestly, I couldn't find anything special. This. It's Boca Grande island, or what are the. What's the pirate event called?
Gasparilla.
Gasparilla Island. We're at Gasparilla State park right now. This was built in 1890, literally, just because they built a lighthouse here. And I think that's the lighthouse right there, actually. So they built that here because this is, if you would like to pan out, is a shipping channel of some sort. Yeah. And now you guys know Boca Grande with an e on the end of grand, which, you know, why I thought it was grande. But now I'd like to confess immortal sin to you guys. I've actually been lying. I've been deceiving. I've been misleading you. I know I look like this very tough, tan and handsome guy. We take a look at my back.
Oh, my God.
It is as pale as the Japanese snow. Okay, I'm talking, like, pasty. So, you know, it's all facade. You guys shouldn't listen to the thing I say. And that's it. We're going to go swimming again. All right, guys, Patty's excited. She found something. What do we got, Patty?
All right, I know it looks like a regular twig, but it's actually a little crab of sorts. I'm afraid to touch it because he looks mad.
Pick it up, Patty. Don't be a baby. You look like a baby right now.
A big baby right now.
So here he is. Let's see. It's hard to get a good view of him. Oh, well. Spider crap. Patty wants to move him. I ain't touching that thing. I think it was, like, it would take me over, like, get in my brain, like, movie alien, shake me out that, you know, she can play with it all. She wants to. All you handicapped people, wheelchair people who want to come visit the lighthouse here, I would like to say that they've been very thoughtful. They've got this great ramp for you. Bit of a hurdle here, you know, this is. You know, they. They clearly care enough to build the ramp, but they didn't clear enough. Care enough to, you know, get it up all the way. This is a little sketchy, too, but, you know, we're gonna make it. We're gonna Check out this. This lighthouse, you know? Good luck. All right, we're up at the lighthouse. I don't think we're able to get to it. It looks like it was made. I don't know. I feel like I'm looking at a Confederacy, like, station or something. I don't really know. It was made in 1890, but we're up here. This is probably, like, the best part of the beach. You get a nice little panoramic view. There's, like, a bridge or, like, an old dock out there. I don't know if you can see it. It looks really cool, but, yeah, I mean, this lighthouse piece of history. 130 years old and 134 years old. Pretty cool. What are your thoughts, Patty? What do you think about the beach?
I love it here.
It's awesome. What's your favorite part? Crab.
Yeah, the crab has been cool.
My favorite part is the wheelchair ramp. That thing is sick, dude. You got to be, like, America, gladiator warrior, handy, capable person to make it. So all you go getters out there, this is the ramp for you. It's been waiting for you all your life. Come try it out. All right. We just came out here to the Johan Foost or Fuss library. Supposed to be beautiful. It looks outstanding from the outside, but we kind of goofed. No photography permitted. Good thing we're making a video, Am I right? I would like to know that their wheelchair ramp actually works. But, yeah, it's closed. She's taking a photo, and this is, like, one of the big reasons we came here, actually. It looked beautiful, but we'll check it out another time. Got some more beach access over here. I think we're gonna go check out a church right nearby, get some lunch, and then try to get onto those railroad tracks, if you know what I'm saying. No, but literally, they're like, abandoned railroad tracks. So, anyways, back to the car we go. See you guys. All right, guys. Me and Patricia, we are straight. I would say she's the bigger retard, but we go up to the church to go in, and it's in service, and I'm, you know, like, I am retarded. So I was like, well, let's just go anyways. And Patty said that she can't because she's too wearing a bathing suit. She doesn't want the Lord to see her. Her, you know, her chesticles. So we're gonna drive around and look at houses and stuff, so we'll see what we can find. Patty's looking at houses on Zillow right now. What do you think, babe?
It's nuts. 2.65 million for 1100 square feet.
I mean, that's no big deal, right? You know, we just open up an only fans. We got that shit in like two days. You know what I'm saying? Because everyone will subscribe to me though. It'll be a bunch of dudes subscribing to see my not chesticles. But since the testicles. So you guys get it? All right. We're here at the lighthouse. We keep making stupid rookie mistakes. Everything that we wanted to do essentially is close. We just discovered this place yesterday on Instagram. So we were like, let's go check it out. And we're leaving for Greece soon. So this was like the one day we could do it. But we're gonna try to see if we can climb this guy. Patty, what do you think? Do you want to get all the way up in this thing? Does it remind you of anything? By the way, it looks. Reminds me of something a little bit smaller. Let's see if we can get in, guys. My gut feeling is that it's closed. Moment of truth. It is, in fact, locked. Everything is closed. But it's beautiful here. I got a beautiful life. It's a beautiful day. And we're about to go try out some lobster rolls, I think at this new one's place. So. Yeah. Well. Got any parting words?
Farewell, friends. It's been a day.
All right, we're going to the Pink Elephant. Hopefully it's open. You know what I'm saying? Little man cave here. Got some. Get some fish. Little bobcat. All right, so we just checked out the Gasparilla Inn. Very nice staff. They gave us some ideas of where we can eat since everything is closed, man. But beautiful property. Patricia, you decided we're gonna stay there for what?
Our. God, I keep wanting to. Sarah. Honeymoon. But our.
What is it?
Anniversary. Our anniversary.
Yes. But Patty, the fun fact. She actually doesn't know what day we got married. Let's test her. What day do we get married?
December 11th.
Nope. December 10th. See, she can't figure it out. And ladies and gentlemen, that is why you should stay single. Because the woman will never care about you and remember things. And I forgot where our car was, but yeah, this place beautiful. Check it out. Gasparilla in. And we're going to try to get lunch for like the third time now. So this is the golf course out here at the Jasper Lane. It looks pretty sick. All right. I just want to show here real quick cuz I shoot a 100. I am clearly a professional golfer. Show me a better score than 100. 100 is perfect score on a test, and he's a perfect scoring ball, so, yes. Nice course. All right, we found a place. That's it. I'm not gonna record anything here. All right, I didn't show you guys anything from the restaurant. Patty's in the phone, so I need to kill time. But the reason I didn't show you anything. I'm just kidding. It's because I had chicken tenders. It was too embarrassing.
He's talking right now and I can't.
I had to order it off the kids menu.
No, no, no, no. You're fine. What's up, though?
This is the Devin show. All right, so we're back where we started, the skyway bridge we had in Boca Grande. It was great. Bad news was almost everything was closed. We learned our lesson. Do research ahead of time. Don't necessarily go on Sunday, but we're almost home to St. Pete. We see it in the distance over there. I don't know how to point at it or what.
It's a little over there.
It's a little foggy. But we'll give you a quick update when we get home. And then that's all we got for you today. So fun times. All right. We are finally home. Last part of the trip. Best part. We gotta say hello. Oh, cat vomited. We gotta say hello to our boy. There's one of them over there. The vomit guy. We're gonna let this little demon out of its cage. Now we have one last thing to check on right here. So sales up to this point, we're up to 5,300. So not a bad day. Out on the beach, hanging out.
Well, fun time recording.
Cat is angry that we left him for so long.
Puppy's happy that Mom's home.
And we'll see you guys later. Peace.
