My point is, I didn't read that book just for fun. You know, I read it because I had a specific problem that I wanted to solve, and that's the purpose of reading. And don't get me wrong, like, if you want to read for enjoyment, I think you should. I definitely think you should. I don't want that to be the message that reading is bad. The message here is that if you're lying to yourself and telling yourself you're productive because you're spending a lot of time reading, even though you don't have problems that that book can solve, that's bad. If you're reading a book to distract yourself from the actual work. If you're reading business books to make you feel productive or self help books to you feel productive, really need to take a long, hard look in the mirror because there's definitely something better you could be doing with your time.
