What's up, guys? Devin Zander here. Welcome to the From Delivery Driver to CEO podcast. And today we're going to be talking about the power of unshakable faith in yourself. So these are lessons, tales, stories, how I went from a high school dropout and Jimmy John's delivery driver to the CEO of an eight figure software and education company. Let's get into today's episode. So if you're watching on video, you'll see it's dark in here. Yes, I'm very tired. The truth is, is the light switches out in the hallway and I was just like way too lazy to turn it on. So we're here. Anyways, today we're going to be talking about faith in yourself and the fine line that you actually need to walk. And this is just kind of a hack that I've used over the years. It's by no means the only way. There's a million different ways to skin a cat. But I will tell you that this is one way to ensure that things go well for you, that you never get upset and that you can just power through and crush it. Okay, so. And look like I know that a lot of this stuff is easier said than done. And I think the simplest thing or the simplest way that I can put it is everything that we'll be covering today. It should be a short episode. I imagine It'll be under 10 minutes. But sometimes you'll feel like you can't do this. Maybe, but you just have to. You have to think in your mind and something that my therapist taught me too. And we'll get into the episode. I know that I'm kind of rambling, but is like it's impossible to not ever have anxiety. Right? And in fact, it's good to have anxiety because anxiety is a defense mechanism that we've gotten over years of evolution. Right? We hear that growling noise in the bushes are our stomach drops. That is the same feeling that we get when we have destructive, anxious thoughts. And the most important thing to do is realize that to suffer is normal. And we have to say, does this hurt me right now? Okay. And the reason I bring that up is because since we are talking about confidence and inevitability, belief in yourself, there are times when that will falter and you'll feel like a failure. It's going to happen, it's inevitable. But we have to just say, do these thoughts serve me? Am I in danger right now? And if the answer is no, then your anxiety should dissipate. Okay, now let's get into the mindset. You need to crush it, baby. And it's really an idea of being inevitable. If you think about what. What is his name? The dude from the Marvel movies? He snaps and everyone disappears. Thanos. Yeah. If you think about Thanos, he says, I am inevitable. And what that means is, no matter what anyone does, no matter if they beat him now, no matter what his mission, his goal is inevitable. There is no way to stop it. It will happen one way or another. And because he feels that way, he does not get upset from defeats. They do not affect him at all. They are not setbacks. They are not anything. Because he is inevitable, nothing will stop him. And that is how you need to view your business. You need to understand that your success is inevitable. And when you do that, it gives you the strength to keep going regardless of the circumstances, regardless of the situations. Now, I want you to take another note from that whole Thanos thing right there, which is that he doesn't get disappointed by setbacks. So let's say the Avengers or whatever, they beat him, right? And he doesn't get upset. What does he say? He says, it doesn't matter. I am inevitable. And that is what we need to do when setbacks happen in our business. It's almost. I used to study pickup, you know, like how to pick up and meet women when I was much younger, about 13 years ago, when I was 18. And there's this idea called outcome independence, which means the best way to meet women is to go out there and have fun and be removed from the outcome. Like, I don't care if I take a woman home and sleep with them. I just want to go out there and meet women and have as much fun as possible. And then the side effect of that is I would meet women and they would have fun because I'm having fun. I'm not needy. I'm not like in any of this. Cause I don't care if they like me or not. I don't care if they went home with me or not or whatever. I was just there to have fun. And then as a side effect of me being out there and having fun, I attracted a lot of women. And then, you know, they wanted to hang out with me. So it's the same way with business. You need to have outcome independence while also having a feeling of inevitability. And that might sound confusing. What does it mean? It means when you try things in business, you're not going to get upset whether or not they work, because you expect failures to happen. But, you know, in the long run that your success is inevitable. So you like, and this is where people get tripped up. They're like, okay, well, I thought that I should know that I'm going to succeed. Yeah, you do know you're going to succeed. And you also know that things are going to happen along the way. They're not big deals, not everything works okay. But if you keep at it, your success is inevitable. And you have to have this. There needs to be zero doubt in your mind. You need to train yourself to have zero doubt in your mind that you will succeed as long as you stay at it every day. How can you fail? The only way that one can truly fail ever is by giving up. Right? So summarize. You need to be inevitable. You need to understand, you need to know. You need to know without a single doubt in your mind that you will succeed. And on top of that, you need to be independent of the outcome at the same time, because there will be times where you don't succeed. But that doesn't matter. You're still inevitable. And these setbacks should not affect you because it's a natural order of life. Remember, like Thanos says, Thanos gets defeated. He doesn't get upset because he knows his plan, his goal is inevitable. And that's how you need to have your business be as well. I hope that made sense. This is Devin Zander.
