Top 5 Shopify Apps To INCREASE SALES in 2024! (Ecommerce Tips) 💰

Devin Zander walks through five Shopify apps he uses to drive sales: tools for reviews, upsells, customer lifetime value tracking, bulk editing, and email/SMS marketing. He shares his own sales data and how each one works in practice.
In the past 10 years, my partner and I have done over $50 million in sales on our Shopify store. And I don't say that to brag. I say that because it's worth listening to us. We've done a lot of sales. And in today's video, I'm gonna be showing you our top five app recommendations for 2024. If you want to be cool like us and wear sick Burberry jackets and make up tons of oodles of money, you know what I'm saying? Anyways, one more sip of crab. So, all that being said, let's get into today's video, the top five apps that we plan on using in 2024 and that we've been using to make a bunch of money. All right, so let's just get right into it. Number one, we're gonna get into the review app Looks. Many different reasons why you want a review app. It's basically necessary. Reviews are ubiquitous. Every single store uses reviews, or at least they should. And in fact, if we Google it, like, how many purchasers look at reviews to make a buying decision? Right? Like, the statistics show that 98% of shoppers show reviews are an essential resource. Purchasing decisions. Nearly half won't make a purchase if there are no reviews. So what are you doing? You got to collect reviews. And we recommend looks. Multiple reasons. It's easy to use, it looks good, integrates easy, lots of stuff. Right? And if we look at our data here, we can see that we've collected 4,897 reviews using looks. Let's go, baby. And it's directly attributed $23.1k in sales. Now, I would say this number's inaccurate. It's probably hundreds of thousands because this is only tracking people who, like, clicked an email or whatever directly from looks. But just because of the increased conversion rate on our store and the increased trust, the increased authority, I would say that this has made us hundreds of thousands of dollars. And you can get started for, like, 9.99, 34.99, or the big boy plan. $300 a month. Oh, gosh, someone's fancy. I don't know actually even know what plan we're on. I should probably look into that. But we use it. It makes a bunch of money. It increases trust, increases authority. It gets video reviews, photo reviews. It does it all, baby. And it's worth having if you want to make a bunch of money in 2024 on your Shopify store. So, all that being said, we've got a reviews app which is a must have. Now what about the next must have app on your store? Well, it is an upsell app. You need to have upsells, you need to have cross sells and related products are the best way to do this while also maintaining an excellent custom customer experience is everything in 2023 and of course it will be everything moving into 2024. And if you noticed in one of our prior videos where I went over our three ChatGPT prompts, I discussed our return customer rate. We have a 40% return customer rate on one of our stores and it's because we create an amazing experience. Now I will say that this is on the higher end. $79 a month. It is a higher end related product app. It comes with a free trial, but you know, it really pays for itself. I'll be honest with you, if we look at our stats here, in the past 30 days we've made 7, $600 in sales because of this app and we sold 170 products because of it. So that's like 100x ROI. But it's very simple. It just shows related items, items that people are likely to buy based upon categories and what people have bought before. Things like that. Super simple to use. Literally. Plug and play, highly recommend it. Just because the simplicity, you know, like so many upsell apps require you to do this or that and then all this custom setup. Oh, I need to hire an engineer. Oh God. You know, that's not fun. As a store owner, I just to focus on creating good products and making money. I don't want to worry about the bullshit. So that's why Rec o Matic is something that we've switched to on all of our stores and it just makes us money with no muss, no fuss, no bull. We just install it and boom, we make an extra almost $8,000 a month. And what's great about like upsells and things like that is it's free money because you don't have to pay ad spend. They're already in your store. They're already there. It's just like email, right? It's just extra money that you wouldn't have made if you didn't have it. So it's definitely worth having. That is recomatic, baby. Now this is great. We've got product reviews, we've got upsells, cross sells related products, right? Ooh, good stuff. We're making money. But now I'm gonna show you a plugin that I think is basically required if you wanna be a serious store owner. And none of the other YouTubers are gonna tell you about this, because the truth is, is none of them are actually making a lot of money on their stores. They just pretend to be. And you know what? Come at me, bros. Whatever the app, we're gonna lifetimely. This is LTV and Profit by amp. It has a free plan available. And then, you know, if you're under 500 orders a month, $34 a month, $75 a month, up to $150 a month, this is extremely necessary. I cannot begin to just say how necessary this is. And my boy Nibbler, maybe we'll make this guy a feature on all videos. Any Futurama fans out there? He also agrees that it is highly recommended. And the biggest reason is because of the customer LTV tracking. I'll explain what that is in a second. But essentially, the app, all the data, all the insights, your metrics you insert, your cost of goods sold, all these different things, and it gives you a detailed look into how profitable your business really is. Now I'm going to show you behind the scenes of a real store. Most people only talk about their sales figures. Here you can see our actual profit figures. 2.7 million in sales, 1.2 million ad spend, 1 million in COGS. We made $500,000 profit in the bank, baby. Take it home. Buy your girl some nice fancy shoes. You know what I'm saying? So the app does this, which is really cool, and it allows you to just know how profitable you are, how much money you're making. All good stuff. But there's actually, for all you marketers out there, you might have heard of a metric called ltv. There's a reason why LTV is in the name of this app. And no, LTV is not shown right here, okay? There's a reason LTV is shown, and that's because this is one of the most important metrics if you're running ads and you want to make a bunch of fricking money, know what I'm saying? Because this is lifetime value. How much your customer is worth over their lifetime. Why is that important? Because sometimes you aren't profitable on day one, okay? You might sell a product for $30, and it might cost you $35 to acquire a customer. And you might be thinking. And most owners think, well, you know what? It's impossible to make money like that. I will never be rich. Which is not true, because all the biggest companies out there, they lose money acquiring their first customer, but they know their customer, LTV. So in this case. Right. It might cost US$35 to acquire a customer. Right. And the truth is it cost us $32 to acquire a customer. And we are profitable on day one. On day one is $53. But that being said, after six months, a customer is actually worth $61. So let's say that I wanted to scale up my ad spend and I scaled it up so much. By the way, when you scale ad spend, the cost per customer acquisition is going to go up because you're going to broader and broader audiences. But let's say I scaled it up so much that I was generating like thousands of times more customers. It's crazy. They're pouring in. But my acquisition cost goes up to 53 bucks. Right. Well, I can look here and I can know like, oh well, actually in six months I'll have made $61 or I would know within the first three weeks it actually be $55. Right. And this is how you grow your business. And if we look here, we can see that my 24 month LTV is $75. So that means that I'm getting an extra 50% out of each customer over 24 months. And I can use that to scale my ad spends. I can use it to make better data driven decisions and I can use it to better understand profitability. And in fact, we're increasing our lately, which is sick. You can see the AOV is up and this is just really good data to have if you want to scale your ads. Now, do I think that if you're new you should be scaling in the negative? No, I do not think that when you're new. The truth is, is that it's, it's cheaper to acquire customers because your ads aren't scaled. But eventually when you're going to scale, you need to know your customer lifetime value if you want to make money. All right, great, Good. You guys get it. Cool. One more Kratom sip, let's go. Oh, in the scup cup. By the way, Linus Tech tip ad here, that's a joke. If you guys watch Linus Tech tips, they always work these ads into this stuff. Now we've got ltv, we've got upsells, we've got product reviews. I'm going to cover something next that is pretty different. But if you run a print on demand store or you've been around for a while, you've probably noticed like, oh my God, you've got a bunch of products on your store and it's very difficult to edit all your products like we have thousands of products on our stores. So what do we do? The next app we recommend is the Hextom bulk product product edit app. Of course, this has a free plan as well. It has got a $10 a month plan, 20 or $50 a month plan. Their support's great. This is an excellent app and we're constantly testing what converts on our store. So we're testing things with product descriptions, we're testing things with like our shipping info. And all of this information goes on every single product. And when you have thousands of products, it would take. It would. I can't imagine trying to do that one by one would be the worst experience ever. That is worse than going to the in laws for Christmas, which I'm coincidentally doing soon. Sorry, babe, if you're listening, she' the only reason I can make that joke is because my wife is not home right now. And if I catch any of you telling my wife I said that, I will do nothing at all. But you know, it sucks. I can't imagine having to edit that many products. And luckily we found the bulk product edit app which allows us to freaking edit tons of products at once. It does exactly what it says it does. It's very simple. You can see it here on our store. Very simple. We have all these different things that we can go in and edit. It is an excellent app for saving time and it actually makes you a bunch of money. Because I'll tell you something, guys, I know we have a lot of products on our store, but quantity isn't necessarily a good thing. So once or twice a year, typically I think we've actually switched doing it like once a quarter. We will go through and delete products from our store that are not selling. And what this does is it gives us a huge increase in conversion rate. Our conversion rate goes up like 30% every time we do this. Just deleting products that people aren't buying because people end up on those products, they're like, oh, I'm not actually interested in this. And then they're like, I don't want this. I'm leaving. So we delete all these crappy products. Hey, we can't all have winners. Like, we're not winning every time. What can I say? We try our best. We delete all these products and our conversion rate goes up significantly. And hex Tom, very simple app that allows us to do this. At the click of a few buttons, we can update all our product descriptions. We can delete a bunch of products, we can change shipping, blah, blah, blah. We can do tons of stuff. So this gets a huge seal of approval from me. Yes. Let's go. Now, the last app is something every single store needs. I know the Hex Tim thing is like, oh well, Devin, that's not really that useful. Will you shut your mouth? The most important app out of all of these is Klaviyo. I didn't even pull it up for some reason. So we'll pull that up. All right, so we've got Klaviyo and this is basically email marketing and SMS for your store. This is the most important thing. If you are a store owner, you need to be doing email and you need to be doing sms. So many store owners sleep on sms. But dude, it is literally free money and SMS makes more money than email. So please get on it. Klaviyo is just the most excellent. You can basically have everything plug and play right out of the box. Send emails, sms, you have your card abandoned. Flows, you have your reactivation campaigns. A reactivation campaign is basically sending emails to a customer who hasn't purchased in a long time, trying to get them to reactivate, come back and purchase from you again. We've got a campaign for literally anything you can think of. Oh, actually they have stuff here. They have remind customers to purchase. So that's the cart abandoned or I suppose out of stock. Reminders, things like that encourage repeat purchases. All these different things. Everything you want is in here. And I'm gonna put an image on the screen real quick. Boom. Right there. That is how much revenue we've generated from this on one store in the past few months. It's like a hundred thousand something dollars and we're paying nowhere near that much to use the app. So it's free money. If you're not emailing your list or SMSing your list saying, hey, by the way, we have more products that you'd probably like to buy, then you're stupid and losing tons of money. It's not smart. So here's an idea. Stop being ST and no offense, hey, tough love is important sometimes. Stop being stupid. Start emailing, start sms. Klaviyo is the way to go. If you do not want to use Klaviyo, there is a free alternative. Shopify email. It's really simple, it's nowhere near as robust and if you have under 250 contacts, you can just use Klaviyo for free as well. So highly recommend it. Now those are the five apps. I do have some extra bonus ones. Oh baby. Bonus apps that can also help you make a lot of money. Basically, these are print on demand apps. We are print on demand stores. So, you know, what can you do? Now we use a private supplier that is directly integrated with and we get sick margins. You know, I like to brag, whatever. So yeah, you can't use our supplier. But there are a lot of great, good suppliers out there. Shineon is amazing. They're here in St. Petersburg, same city as me. They specialize in jewelry. We sell quite a bit of that. Definitely check them out. Gear Bubble also allows for jewelry and a bunch of other things. Check them out as well. We love both of these suppliers are excellent. And if you just want to sell anything and everything under the sun, please go check out Printify. Printify is excellent. No, this is not sponsored. But these guys have a huge catalog. They integrate with suppliers all around the world and basically anything you could ever want to sell, they got it here. Except for the jewelry. Go to Shine On. Go to Gearbubble. So, guys, that's it for today's video. Make sure to like, comment, subscribe, let me know what you think. These are my apps. Peace.
