Don captured a red-winged blackbird nipping at a deer's tail in a local park. The bird could be defending its nest, picking off ticks, or just playing around. He breaks down each possibility and asks viewers what they think happened.

Have you ever seen deer and birds playing together? Hey, how's it going? This is Don from WDO Photography, and I'm pretty sure that that's what I saw yesterday, but I would really love your opinion. So I was out in the local park photographing all sorts of migrating birds. It was absolutely wonderful. I saw Baltimore Orioles and Orchard Orioles and And just an unbelievable variety of different migrating species. Having a great time when out of the corner of my eye, I see over in this sort of swampy area that there's a deer bouncing around and bounding and turning and really having what looked like a great time with itself. So I started watching what it was doing, and that's when I saw a red-winged blackbird Swoop in and just nip at its tail. Now, if you're not familiar, red-winged blackbirds will be very aggressive towards anything or anyone that gets too close to their nesting sites. That includes deer, but it also includes people, so just be aware of that. But they also will pick ticks off of deer, which is pretty helpful for the deer and obviously gives them a nice little snack, I guess. So this behavior though, I'm not so sure. I can't tell if it was that, picking ticks off of the deer, or if it was aggressive behavior because it was too close to its nesting site, but it really looked to me like play. So here's the video. Please let me know what you think. I'd love to hear what your opinion is on this. Leave a comment down below telling me what you think they're, they're doing, if they're playing or if this is aggressive or just a snack. Thank you so much for watching.
