A birder found a hidden spot in North Park, Connecticut that's packed with birds even during heat waves. Park at the North Park Sports Complex off Route 8, cross the bridge over Pine Creek, and follow it into an old ski-slope field.

I am here in North Park in an area that I've never been to before. I got this tip last night. Uh, it's kind of the middle of the day. It's super hot this week. Today's Friday of this massive heat wave that we've been having, and, uh, despite that, I came out and there are a ton of birds. You might even hear them in the background here. So if you're looking for a new spot and you don't know of this one, this is right off of Wildwood Road near the North Park Sports Complex, the giant bubble. If you come down Wildwood from Route 8, It's on the left. If you park in the lot for the sports complex next to the dumpsters in the corner, you'll find a little bridge that will lead right across the, uh, the creek there, Pine Creek, and up into this field here where it used to be a ski slope. So check it out if you haven't been here. Tons of birds. Awesome, awesome place. Thanks.
