So York River State Park is located on the banks of the York River, which is, along with the James River, kind of surround this little peninsula that Williamsburg and Jamestown and York, Virginia are all on. They're kind of brackish at this point, I think, and they dump into the bottom of the Chesapeake and then on out into It's about 50 minutes or so from Virginia Beach, and it's absolutely beautiful here. I mean, just look at how beautiful this place is. I also went to the Green Springs Interpretive Trail in the evening. You could see these red-shouldered hawks, were so cool to see. But back over at York River, I got to see some yellow-bellied sapsuckers, which are my absolute favorite type of woodpecker. Speaking of woodpeckers, this little downy woodpecker was so much fun to watch as it hunted underneath the bark for some little insects or whatever other type of food it might have been looking for. So whatever he was looking for, I should say. You can tell it's a boy because he has that red spot on the top of his head. Then he went up and chilled for a little while before getting back at it, and my absolute favorite photo of him is coming up. It is just adorable. He's just cleaning his beak off, but it looks like he's just giving the tree a hug. Like I said, here he is back out, back at it, trying to get some more food before the end of the day there. And I also saw some other birds like this Tufted Titmouse who's also looking for some food under the bark, just like his buddy. And we'll finish it out with these turkey vulture photos, this turkey vulture. It was a lot of fun. Thanks for watching.
