In this concise coaching segment, Donna Brown urges entrepreneurs to infuse their businesses with their full personalities, quirks, and passions. She argues that clients don’t just buy a service; they buy the person delivering it. By sharing personal stories, interests (e.g., love of dogs, surfing, spirituality), and unique vibes, business owners become more relatable, noticeable, and attractive to their ideal tribe. Brown emphasizes that integrating who you are into your business creates a seamless life‑business blend, leading to greater happiness for the owner and stronger connections with clients.

A lot of my clients talk about whether they should be bringing more of their sort of personality and their quirks and their other interests to their business, and I always say yes. I always say yes. Share your story, share who you are, share how you got here, share that you love dogs or that you're a surfer or whatever it is that you're passionate about as part of your business. You came out of a more structured corporate environment to be able to create something which is unique to you and that allows you to express yourself through what we call conventionally a business. So why wouldn't you bring everything that you have to that? And it's what will make your clients relate to you. It's how they will notice you. The person who's really funny, the one who's all very spiritual, whatever it is, or really edgy. Whatever your personal vibe is and your special characteristics are, really flaunt them and make sure that people know who it is that you are because that's who they're hiring. There are lots of services that you can have that people can buy, so aside from the service, what are they buying? They are actually buying you and the ability and the possibility of working with you. So please bring everything you have to your business, integrate it, and create a business that is just part of your life and that— and the business is part of you. And you'll be happier, your clients will find you, and your tribe will be drawn to you for who you are.
