Most people spend their entire life stressed without ever giving a single thought as to what it is they really want or what's important to them. See, I'm here to cut through all that noise, connecting you to yourself and the life that you were meant to live. I used to slave away at a corporate job that I hated, but I broke through the social norms and pursued my passion. As a result, I own my own coffee company. I'm espresso sommelier, and I get to travel the world. You, too, can live a life that you love, but it starts with getting clear about what you want. It starts with a new decision. I'm your host, Donnie Rouse. You are listening to the podcast One Life. What is your emotional temperature? And how do you figure what that is? So what is your emotional temperature? Your emotional temperature is that threshold, that feeling that you feel day in and day out. It's your habitual way of living. And the reason why this is so important because I guess the attitude we bring to our day is how we live our lives. It's kind of like the filter. If you imagine a camera lens, if you have a camera and you put, like, a polarizing lens, all of a sudden, now the blues pop. Or if you put a violet lens, all of a sudden now everything has a purple hue to it. So if you understand where your emotional temperature is, you could kind of see you can get out ahead of yourself and realize, all right, well, what needs to change in order for my life to get a little bit better or maybe a lot better? So I've been doing this event, and. And if you've ever been to a Tony Robbins seminar, you know that his whole thing is keeping yourself in a peak state. And when you're in the peak state, you're changing your physiology. You're changing the way you're using your mind, what you're focusing on, and then just being in that atmosphere, you're answering questions that are specifically posed to pull a more empowering answer rather than some of the shitty questions you ask. Maybe like, why doesn't this work? So being in that environment for it's been, this is day four right now. And then all of a sudden getting out of it and talking to the people that you talk to normally in your week, I started noticing something. I'm like, well, wow, this person's attitude is very negative. Like, I don't feel good around this person or. And I started to see, like, the filter in which other people were living their life. And I'm not bashing anybody because it's Easy to get there if you're not keeping your eye on that thermostat, if you're not saying, all right, well, this is what I want my new set point to be, because I was there literally a week ago because my focus was in a shitty place. But once I shifted the focus, I already started a whole new set of routines, what I do with my morning. So this way, I am in a peak state, and I feel great about my day. And this is something like, I've done variations of this in the past, and it always feels good, but then sometimes you drop off, and that's yourself trying to sabotage you. But that's not the point of this episode or this session right here. The thing I want you to focus on is just, where are you? Where is your thermostats set? So if you imagine one of those old thermostats that had the circle thermostats that have the mercury in it, or there's a little dial, everything's digital now. Or if you have, like, a nest thermostat, you see the dial and you turn the knob, and all of a sudden you see that the. You see the little knob where the indicator. You see it going above and below. And then there's a set point. What we want to find out is, what is your set point? There's a couple ways we can do this, right? The first thing we can do is get into environments where the atmosphere, where the temperature is different, right? You may not even have to go into the environment. If you have friends who are always happy and you're like, makes me sick. They're always so happy, then that's probably a very good indication that your thermometer or your thermostat needs to be tweaked to make that a little warmer to go to a little bit more of that happier state. If you are not really sure and you think you're a positive person all the time, right? Because I would say that was me. Like, I would be like, oh, my God. Yeah. Well, I consider myself to be a positive person, which is great. It's part of my identity. When people ask, oh, Donnie. I like to think that people think of, like, my sunny disposition. They consider me optimistic because it is a goal. I want to put out positivity, but it's not always how I feel inside. So you can delude yourself into thinking that you're positive and you're doing your not having any negative thoughts when in reality you really are. So again, how do we do this? So one, we could just look at the question, look at the people you're surrounding yourself. What is their mood? Because the people you surround yourself with is who you're going to become. If you're still stumped there. Monitor your language. If you hear yourself talking to someone, what kind of comments are you making? Are you saying, oh, are you very pessimistic, that things will never work? Are you happy for others when they succeed? That'll give you a good indication. And then thirdly, try, switch the opposite. Try going to an extreme. And you don't want to go to the negative extreme. You want to go to the positive extreme, right? Start going into that positive, where you're surrounding yourself with positive information, things that are going to enforce who you really are. And when you're in that space, do it long enough, do it a few days and kind of like seclude yourself. But once you start having your mind go down that road, it's going to want to stay down that road. And the second you see a turn off, your mind's gonna be like, well, no, no, that doesn't feel right anymore. Like I, I see where that road is taking and something's off there, right? So just being on a new path, all of a sudden, now you have the contrast. Now you can see the other side of it where you may not have been able to see it before because you were in it. So that is really what I've got for you guys today. And because everything has changed, the body is incredibly adaptable. It will thrive in whatever environment you put it in, positive or negative. The only thing is if you put it too long in the negative, you won't be around very long. So that is what I wanted to share with you, just to be a little bit more conscious. And, and then on a parting note, I wanted to share one thing I did in this event. We raised money for, to save girls who were being sex trafficked. And there was the scarcity mindset, like I had, because I just donated to a different, different cause. I'm like, ah. You know, then like, then on the screen it flashed, you know, $500 saved one girl. I was like, well, how can I not do that? Why wouldn't I do that? And then, But I was still kind of like grumbling as I pressed the send button. And then once I did it, that scarcity disappeared because I realized, wow, I'm not gonna miss $500. Right? Everyone's, we're all in different financial positions. But when I think about, I was like, you know, in. If that were the case. Like, yeah, there's things like I could don't have to buy like the extra coffee maker or whatever it is. So it makes the sacrifice worthwhile. So what I'm trying to say is that it feels good to give. So find a place in your day today where you can just give and I promise you, you will feel a hundred times better for that. So, guys, thank you so much for tuning in. I know you could be putting your attention anywhere else and I'm so happy and grateful that you tuned in here to better your life. Because it is all about momentum. It's all about asking yourself different questions. Because ask yourself different questions, you will end up in a different place. And so, again, God bless, thank you guys so much for tuning in. If you enjoyed this, please subscribe. So this way you don't miss a single episode. You can also send me any questions you have. OnnyrouS-O-N-N y r-a u s.com and lastly, if you go to the events tab on my website, I'm going to be doing a dream setting workshop. Or I call it Coffee Breaks with Donnie or Coffee Dates with Donnie. But I call it rather than dream setting, I'm going to call it Dream awakening because it's about putting that focus on the things that you want and stirring that desire. This way you start to just think differently. And when you start focusing on it and the feeling of it, you're going to start to pull that towards you. So that's it, guys. God bless. Hope you enjoyed this session and I will see you again soon.
