Hi, guys. My name is Donnie Rouse, and you are listening to the podcast One Life Made for Results. Everything we do has a result in mind. At least if we're. If we're conscious of it, we have a result in mind. The risk is that when we get into that mundane, when we get into those, we start doing the routine things that we do day in and day out. Sometimes we forget why we're doing it in the first place, and when we forget why we're doing it in the first place, boredom sets in, we get complacent, and we kind of. We just miss out on the magic that's. That's present in our life and in our everyday. All those little interactions, those chances that we have to make a difference in someone else's life, a chance to improve our own. So what I want to do here and what the result will be, the result will be from this podcast is to give you a renewed or a different way of looking at the tasks that you do day to day. If you find yourself frustrated, if you find yourself kind of anxious, if you find yourself complaining about the things that you do, then I think this podcast will help you a lot. Earlier this week, I was doing some prep work. So I have a beverage called Cold Roman Espresso, and prior to my brew day, there's actually a lot of prep work that goes into it before I could actually do the brewing process itself. So as I was prepping some of the stuff, the coffees and stuff, I was starting to get kind of. My mind was floating in other places, and I wasn't really concentrating or present doing the task at hand, realizing that my mind was off somewhere else, and I was thinking I was way out in the future, and it didn't feel good. And then for some reason, a quote popped in my mind, and this is something I'd heard literally probably 10 years back at a Tony Robbins event. And it went something like. It actually wasn't even a quote, it was a story. So the story he gave was about purpose. He was talking about his experience at a concert. He's a pretty big guy. So he was in there in the concert. He was, you know, having some drinks. He was dancing. But he's a pretty. You know, he takes up a lot of space. So as a result of that, his leg, I guess, would. His body would kind of creep into the aisle, and one of the ushers would come back and, like, blow his whistle, say, listen, you have to get back into your seat. You cannot stand the aisle. And he was trying to explain to himself, well, listen, I am a pretty big guy. It's kind of hard for me to be in this place because it was so crowded. And then at the end he said, listen, what is it that you. What is your result? He didn't actually say this, he said it in different words, but I'm paraphrasing. And the guy said, I don't know, but I cannot let you. I have to keep people out of the aisle. And he refrained him, he said, well, isn't your result to make sure that everyone here is safe and that they're having the best time possible, that they're enjoying their experience? And he said, yes. He's like, I'm pretty sure that is your result. So, you know, he apologized, I think for like stepping in the aisle, but made the guy see like, alright, well, yeah, my result is not to inhibit someone from having a good time. Yes, it's keep safe. But it made him look at things differently. So let's rewind to what was going on with me. So I was doing this and I'm prepping the food, prepping the coffees and I'm like, gosh, I got so many different things to do. And then that came into my mind and says, well, what is the result? At first glance you might think that the result is to get the coffee prepped. So this way I could have the brew day. But that's not the result. You would think it may appear at first glance at that as a result, but it's not. The result was to create the most amazing beverage that people get to enjoy. One that brings people into the moment. So I connected it to my why. Because at first I was thinking about, well, I need to do this in order to do this. Not thinking that, well, no, this is a piece of that puzzle. This is part of the outcome. By doing this step, it enables me to create that delicious, luxurious, awesome espresso that people enjoy. I'm trying to sell it here, but people enjoy so much. But if I'm just thinking about it as a task, I'm robbing it of the energy, I'm robbing myself the emotions that it could give me, connecting it to my larger purpose. So let's bring it back to you. What are some of the things that you do day in and day out that you complain about? Get your pen and paper. And what is it that you're focusing on when you're, when you're doing this? You may focus on, well, I got to do this thing again. Oh, I have no time. Whatever it May be. We'll give an example. Let's say it's having to drive your kids to school or your friends, whatever it may be. And what is. So if you take. Where have you been focusing? Have you been focusing on the action or have you been focusing on a more empowering result that you're after? And if you're deluding yourself saying, well, I've been focusing on the result, I have to get them to school, I want to reframe that. I want you to question that motive, that result, and create a new one. Right. Because that may be a result. Yes, the result is to get the kid to school. Yes, the result is to prep the coffees for my brew day. But that's not going to move the needle. That's not going to make you feel good. Right. There are a full plethora of results that you can get for any action. The point is to choose the one that's going to empower you, choose the one that's going to inspire you, choose the one that's going to fill you up emotionally. So maybe it is to spend that time with your kid, to enrich their lives, to, you know, instill some of the values, to prepare them for their years. You know, I don't know, maybe when they're a teenager and they have to face different problems because the kids will learn from you, maybe it's planning that trip. I have a trip coming up very, very soon to Turkey and doing some of the steps, like doing some preliminary planning, getting, you know, like making sure I have all the paperwork, requirements, insurance for travel, all this stuff kind of seems mundane and could rob. I could, like, I could rob it of the meaning. But when I connect it back to that ultimate purpose of me having the most amazing trip, making sure that everything's safe, everything goes smoothly, and that could fully enjoy myself, then it changes the way I show up. It changes the emotion behind every action I have to take, take every step. So the last question, what is the more empowering result that you can go after? Think of it as like another word of saying is your why? Why is this thing important? When you connect with that, you connect with your heart, soul, you connect with the emotion center and it changes the meaning of everything. So, guys, I hope you enjoyed this podcast. If you did, please share it with your friends, your family, your social media. That is all I've got for you guys today. God bless and I will see you again soon.
