Donny Rouse explains how visualization and focused thinking let you create your own future. He covers mindset techniques and how to shape reality through intentional thought and positive focus.
Hi, guys. My name is Donny Rouse, and you're listening to the podcast One Life Predicting the Future. What if I told you that you were a master fortune teller, that you can predict the future with certainty and specificity? Would you believe me? So the truth is, is that you can. And there's one simple reason why, right? It's because the best way to tell the future is. Is to create it. While I was in Miami, Florida. So I've been in Florida for the last couple months now, depending on when you're gonna listen to this podcast. And when I came initially to kind of to survey Miami beach to figure out where I wanted to live, I was in a different mindset, to say the least. I was. I felt like I was on top of the world. I felt like just kind of with it, like, very sharp. The mood was from a scale from 1 to 10, I was at that 10. And I want to tell you, kind of give you a glimpse as to what that mindset was, why I was feeling so high. So this way, you can take that and you can replicate it in your own life, and you can start to tell the future or predict the future in Miami Beach. You'd heard me mention on podcast before that I used to have this tic where I would walk by people and I would think that they were mad at me, know where it came from, but I was very conscious of it. So while I was in Miami Beach, I started visualizing, and I don't even know where this visualization was coming from. I started picturing myself in the future, just happy, centered, confident, standing tall. And I found myself doing this every single day as I was walking down the street, seeing the people that I would meet, how I would present myself as I was walking by them, the smile I would give, but also looking at them and. And giving them love and gratitude and dignity and just kind of feeling that we're all part of that same tribe. So how do you think that reflected into my environment? So all this I just told you was going on in my head, how did that reflect? How did that transpire in my environment? People responded to me like I was a people magnet. People were just magnetized to me. And I felt very confident. I felt very centered, very peaceful, very in my. Felt comfortable in my shoes. As a result of that, too, opportunities also were arising. Opportunities. Consult for different cafes, doing coffee training, opportunities to maybe open a business down here like a brick and mortar. All these things were kind of circulating around. It was because of the mindset that I was putting out There, right? Because I was visualizing this way of being in my head. And as a result of visualizing that, that's what I was living. Now, let's fast forward about a month after that, I went back to Miami. But this time there was a difference in mindset. This time what I noticed was that I was very agitated by my surroundings. I was very agitated by my environment. Miami, the scene, like, the vibe changes from day to day, and sometimes you could be in there and it's just. It could be, I would say, toxic. In a sense, it's fine if you. If at least from my personal perspective, like, I can go down there, I can enjoy, party one, two, three days, and then I've had enough. But then you have. There are some people who can do that day in and day out, and more power to them for doing that. But it just wasn't aligned with who I am, who I want to be, with my values, my personal preferences. So as a result of that, I felt agitated. I felt out of alignment, and it reflected in my environment. And then all of a sudden, now I felt like I was not. Like, I just felt out of sync. So I'd been in Miami a month during that time, and then as a result of after, like, towards the end of that month, I was thinking, what was the difference what happened now versus what happened one month ago? And I realized that it was the mindset. I realized what I was doing when I was here one month ago. The mindset was completely different. Miami was brand new to me. So that was one aspect of it. But also the visualizations, the things that were going on in my head were different. And as a result, my outward environment was different. Can you relate? What I was doing was creating my own reality. And by just holding that thought, I was able to create that Persona. In a nutshell, everything we do right, we are either pulled by the future or pulled by the past. Either way, if you don't have an inspiring vision of the future, then you're being pulled by the past. So what I was doing was I would find myself in these modes, these kind of, like, habitual patterns that I'd had from growing up. And then I would notice them, and then I'd be like, all right, well, what is it that I want to be? Who is it that I want to be? How do I want to respond in this situation? And just from recognizing this habitual pattern happening and then seeing that this is not aligned with who I'm becoming and who I want to become, it kind of just crumbled. It and it just kind of just went away. And the feeling that followed was one of empowerment. The feeling that fired was one of congruency. Because I had a new. I was pointing towards a new destination. I was pointing towards a new pin, so to speak. If you're thinking about terms of like navigation, right? I had a new destination in my mind. So as a result, the old stuff wasn't serving me anymore. Now let's bring it back to you and we're going to do something very, very simple. Just so you can see that in every moment you are creating your future, you are creating your life. So think of one thing you have to do today. It could be as simple as you have to make breakfast, right? So think of the breakfast and I want you to give thanks, right? See the outcome of it in your mind and say thank you. Thank you, thank you for my outstanding breakfast. And if you want to visualize it, what you would visualize in this instance is that maximum enjoyment. Maybe it's that cup of coffee where, you know, there's been times where you sip the cup of coffee and the world just kind of disappears. You feel very present. Maybe that's the feeling that you're aiming for. That's what you're going for and you want to experience now in your mind. I want you to visualize that, feel it, and then imagine it as you get it in your body, you say thank you again. It could help to put your hands over your heart. And only once you felt it, as if it's happened. That is when you open your eyes and you can say, okay, let me go have breakfast. And you can do this. The same thing as going to the store. Maybe, for instance. I'll give you another example. I went for a run this morning and I'd been feeling a little bit foggy with regard to the direction of where I should focus my energies and my business next. So the intention when I went out for the run was, you know what my intention is? To go on this run to clear my mind, but to get more clarity on what that next step is. Just trusting that the next step is going to come to me. And then what I visualized in my mind was this feeling of peace, this feeling of, like, being guided, this feeling of calm, knowing that that was coming. And as I went on that run, I encountered one person. I had actually, I barely even spoke to the person, but it was the experience of self. And it made me realize what it is that drives me. It was the moving around, meeting different people and experiencing new Things like travel. That's why I love traveling. When I take myself outside of that, when I'm not interacting with people, when I'm not seeing new things, when I'm not fulfilling that desire that's always in me, it kind of leads me astray, and I forget what it is that I want. So as a result of that, I set the intention. I said, okay, this is what I want. I want to feel centered. I want to feel like I know what that next step is, where I'm being guided. And wouldn't you know, nothing specific necessarily happens, so to speak. Well, things are always happening. But because I set that intention, my mind was now grasping for anything to fulfill that intention. Anything to. To create that in which I already visualized. That's what we do in our mind each and every day. If I want you to come away with one thing, it is that we are creating our reality. You are creating your reality, and you get to decide what that reality is. Decide. What do you want your reality to be? Do you want to travel more? You want to start that business? Do you want to have that relationship? Once you have this, I want you to get that sheet of paper. All right? This is your assignment today. What is the thing that you want? Whether it be the travel, the business relationship, whatever it may be. Write that down. Second question. If you don't have that thing, obviously, because I said, what do you want? What is it that you've been focusing on? When you look at what you've been focusing on, you realize that that's question number three. What is it that you've been focusing on? Question number three is, how is that materialized in your life? You need to see the correlation between where you are, what you desire, and the reasons why you don't have it. And it's always because your focus is not there, you're thinking about it differently in the wrong way. So let's do the second part of this. What is one thing that you desire that you. You. That you got is now part of your life? Write that down. Number two, with regard to that object, experience, whatever it may be, what were your thought processes about it? What was your focus on it? Was it something you focused on every single day because you were just completely obsessed with it? Was this something that you. You put pictures up in your room so this way you could be reminded of what that feeling is going to be? And then lastly, what was the end result? We already know the end result. The end result was that it materialized. So if you take the two examples, I just gave you, then you can see that you are already predicting the future, you already manifesting, right? Because really all it is, it's just where we're deciding to put our focus and where the intention is going. Because we will pull out of the environment the things that we are consciously choosing to focus on or unconsciously choosing to focus on, right? Because we're a bunch of patterns, usually stuff that's learned from religion, family, friends, the culture. We have to be conscious. We have to take it off autopilot and now start guiding our plane or ship, our car, whatever you want to call it. That is all I've got for you guys today. So in the end, focus on what it is you want, not the lack thereof. And when you focus on that, you'll know if you're focusing on the right thing, because you'll notice, you start to feel good about it. And then when you set that intention, notice how the feedback mechanism that's out there, the feedback, you start to get that positive feedback because that's what you're anticipating. Start with small things and then slowly make them bigger and bigger. Meaning, like, start with the trip to the food store, your breakfast, your morning cup of coffee, then the trip, then the job you want, whatever it may be, just so this way you can prove to yourself that it already works and you're doing it. That is all I got for you guys today. If you enjoyed this podcast, please give it a thumbs up. Give it a share.
