Here's What It Really Means" (Sexual Health for Men) released on 2026-09-29, hosted and narrated solo by Dr. Anne Truong MD. In this episode Dr. Truong (an intimate health physician and bestselling author who says she has treated over 7,000 men) explains the physiology of nocturnal/morning erections, why loss of morning erections signals problems with nerves, endothelial nitric oxide/blood flow, or morning testosterone surge, and how that loss can indicate erectile dysfunction (ED) and elevated future cardiovascular risk (citing relative risk percentages and the artery-size hypothesis). She contrasts psychogenic vs. organic ED, critiques masking symptoms with ED pills, and describes diagnostic testing and a multi-modal treatment program she offers (the Get Hard System / in-office ED Breakthrough in Virginia, pricing and travel requirements noted), plus membership and resources (Modern Man Club, NoEDMan.com, renewwithdranne.com). The episode also gives lifestyle advice (Mediterranean diet), promotional calls-to-action (apply for programs, subscribe, leave reviews), and links to a free booklet and other resources. If you notice that you aren't waking up with morning wood anymore, and you'll probably tell yourself maybe 2 things. Maybe I'm getting older. Maybe there's something wrong with me, right? Most men simply just shrug it off. Some doctors might even tell you it's normal part of aging. Let me tell you this, it isn't. Clinically, nighttime or morning erection or spontaneous morning erection are one of the most sensitive vital signs of your erection. When they are not consistent or gone, your body is sending you a message that says, you know what, your hormone, your nervous system, and your blood flow may not be working properly. So I'm gonna break this down, exact science of what's happening when you're not getting morning wood consistently and the 3 things that it could mean. So stay tuned to this episode and you'll be surprised what you're gonna hear as the last one.

I'm Dr. Anne Truong. I'm a medical doctor specializing in sexual health. I've treated over 7,000 men with ED. So let's dive into this. Let's look at the physiology. So when you're sleeping, like, you are in REM sleep or rapid eye movement sleep. So a man typically, believe it or not, has 3 to 6 erections when he's sleeping at night or even in the morning, and it lasts from about 5 minutes to even 30 minutes each time. They aren't just random events. They serve as an essential biology purpose. They bathe your penis tissue in oxygen-rich blood, preventing scar tissue development and maintaining the tissue integrity. To make that happen, 3 complex biological systems must work in perfect synchrony. One, the nerve needs to be working well from the brain to the penis. Most men think losing peak performance is just getting old. I would tell you it's not. There's a natural proven protocol doctors rarely talk about that will restore your confidence without side effects. It is called the My Get Hard System, and you can get that by joining the Modern Man Club today. Go to NoEDMan.com. That's NoEDMan.com, and I'll see you there. Number 2, endothelial nitric oxide must be working well. That means that the blood vessels has to release nitric oxide to open up the arteries. Number 3, early morning testosterone surge, the natural peak that occurs after sleep in the morning around 7:00 AM. So if you stop having morning erection, It's not an isolated malfunction of the tissue itself. It means one or more of those core systems that I just mentioned is under strain. So here's what's happening. So let's talk about hormones. In a landmark European male aging study, researchers analyzed dozens of symptoms of low testosterone. They discovered 3 symptoms reliably clustered together to signal low testosterone. Decreased libido, mild ED, and loss of morning erection. So if morning erection drop off, it substantially raises the probability the testosterone deficiency. And that's only half the picture. Quick note before we go any further. If you're a high-income man, usually the age between 45 to 85, and you're ready to invest to fix your ED without relying on pills or surgery, I have the Get Hard Protocol, in-office program where we treat you in Virginia. We combine stem cells, shockwave, Botox, hormones, and lifestyle to help restore natural erection. It's not for everyone. You must be able to travel to Virginia and be comfortable investing around $16,000 for your health. If that's you, pause this video for a moment, click the link down below in the description that says Get ED Breakthrough with Dr. Anne and complete the application. If you're not in that position yet, no problem. Keep enjoying this video and check out our Modern Man Club at NoEDMan.com. Here's the other part that most clinics miss. ED is an independent early sentinel marker for heart disease in the future. Research data published across major cardiovascular studies show that true erectile dysfunction occurs before heart disease, before heart attack, before peripheral artery disease by an average of 3 years, often 2 to 5 years before any type of chest pain develops. Men with ED face a 44 to 59% higher risk of cardiovascular event or heart disease event and a 62% higher risk of an acute heart attack and a 39% higher risk of a Stroke. Why did this happen? They call it the artery size hypothesis. That means that the penis arteries are 1 to 2 millimeters in size, and the heart arteries are about 3 to 4 millimeters in size. So when systemic inflammation starts, like high cholesterol, insulin resistance, and endothelial dysfunction happening that make the arteries stiff, where do you think the blockage starts to flow first? It starts in your pipe, in your penis. So your sexual health is literally the check engine for your heart 3 years before then. So that means that when you have less morning erection or even ED, it's a signaling that you may have heart disease 3 years down the road. Now, I want to clarify an important distinction. Not all ED is identical, and the pattern recognition is where it clinically matters. If you're a younger man, younger men less than 40, and experiences sudden onset of difficulty strictly with a partner, but they'll wake up with morning erection, has zero issues when alone, that strongly points towards more of psychogenic response, such as stress, anxiety, performance anxiety. However, when morning erection disappears across the board and the decline is generalized and gradual, the probability shifts towards more of Physical costs such as like poor blood flow, more hormones, and sleep disruption. A quick prescription of a blue pill doesn't fix the underlying plumbing, nor does it address why your blood vessel lost its capacity to bring in more blood flow. So masking the symptoms with the ED medicine is leaving your long-term health a chance. Would you want to do that? If you notice this shift Of less morning wood, whether it starts in months or years, it's quietly creeping up on you. Do not ignore it and do not accept surface-level reassurance and do not take the ED medication because in our clinic, we don't treat your sex life in a vacuum. We treat it as an essential window into your heart health, your hormone health as well. So this is why we created the Get Hard System. So when you come to the office, we run rigorous blood tests, look at all the inflammation markers. We look at your blood flow, we look at your hormones, we look at your nerve, we look at all your metabolic and your lipid markers to determine your heart risk and objectively pinpoint what is the cause of your ED. Is it blood flow? Is it hormone? Is it nerve? Is it psychological? Is it lifestyle-driven? Our objective isn't just restoring your erection again, it's protecting your heart, optimizing your energy, and helping you regain your health again.
