In this YouTube video, Dr. Hanan Selim, a healthcare professional with over 25 years of experience and a personal 30 kg weight loss in ten months, addresses the central obstacle many women face on weight‑loss programs: sustaining motivation and momentum. She explains that most resolutions fail because people are not honest about what they are willing to do, leading to self‑sabotage. To combat this, she introduces a two‑part practical system. First, a "Willing/Unwilling" checklist that forces viewers to define concrete actions they will commit to (e.g., exercising first thing in the morning) and boundaries they will not cross (e.g., comparing themselves to unrealistic media standards). Second, she presents her "3 B's" framework: (1) Brain training – counting backward from 100 each morning to focus the mind; (2) Breathing – a 6‑6‑9 breathing pattern to release positive neurochemicals and boost metabolism; (3) Body – using simple posture changes or movement to interrupt negative emotional states and reset brain chemistry. Throughout, she weaves personal credibility, cites motivational figures like Earl Nightingale and Robin Williams, and promotes her Holology Wellness programs, a free masterclass, and a subscription call‑to‑action for ongoing support. The video blends instructional content with promotional messaging, aiming to give viewers actionable tools to stay "savvy and sassy" on their weight‑loss journey.

Hey there, Dr. Hanan here. In this video, I'm going to show you how you or your clients can become and stay motivated on your weight loss journey. In fact, I myself was able to lose 30 kgs in 10 months and help clients globally in getting fit, fabulous, otherwise known as savvy and sassy. You see, the problem with any weight loss program, whether you're trying to lose the stubborn 5 kgs or the 50 kgs, is motivation and momentum. Being a healthcare professional for over 25 years, I've seen many people, including myself, make it the New Year resolution promise. Often I see people fall off the wagon before they even got on the wagon. Then before you know it, the new year has rolled around again, finding ourselves in the same place we were last year, or even worse, we have even gained some more love around our love handles, making it so difficult and detrimental to our mental and physical health. Whatever program you choose, whether working with us in Holology Wellness or any other holistic program out there, you need to keep moving and stay motivated on your weight loss journey. As As Earl Nightingale says, am I motivated by why, what I really want out of life, or am I mass motivated? You need measurable results that you never thought possible, as I'm sure you exhausted everything out there, whether alternative or conventional methods, but you've been still suffering from the weight and residual health issues. Even though you use the exact and best protocols out there, if you really want to be fit and want to know what to do that well, that's what I'm going to be teaching you in this video. By the way, that's why I'm an award-winning speaker, international author recognized by Global Health and Wellness Gurus as the most influential thought leader in wellness. Now, if you want to become or learn the tools we teach to not only survive but thrive in our health and well-being, this is the first— and this is the first time you've come across me, then what I want you to do is hit the subscribe button below so you don't miss out on the new videos that we're producing on becoming fit and fabulous fast. So now, one of the things that happen when we have this weight loss thing that we want to get rid of really bad is it's easy to say, "I'll do whatever it takes. Yeah, that aspect of it sucks, but I'm willing to put up with it in the short term." This never really works through because ultimately you end up saying, "God, I hate doing this. It sucks," and then you sabotage yourself. And by the way, this might not be even conscious. So it's important for this reason to be brutally honest about what you're willing to do and not to do. When you draw this line in the sand, it also helps you develop a lot better plan to make it happen. So if I were to flesh out my own personal list of stuff I'm willing to do to lose weight and stuff I'm not willing to do, it might look something like this. Headline: Willing. Underline: I'm willing to do what I hate first thing in the morning, like exercise, so I get it out of the way and not dread doing it the whole day putting stress on my mind and not focus on things I really love to do. For information, this reinforces your confidence in your mind in losing weight. Number 2: Work with a plan that has been tested and measurable in results so I can see the progress of my journey in black and white on paper rather than relying on the disempowering, you know, scale. Unwilling— underline— give up on myself and my dreams because I know I am good enough and smart I'm unwilling to measure my results to a universal standard or a model in a magazine. Once you've got that figured out, here's my 3 B's to stay motivated on your weight loss journey. B number 1: brain training. That's just counting from 100 to 1 backward every morning as soon as you wake up before reaching for, you know, the cup of caffeine. What this does is keep your mind on the things you want and not on what you don't want because the mind cannot do two negating factors like being happy and sad at the same time. Same time. It also allows your brain to release happy chemicals that maximizes your metabolism, keeps you focused positively, and have more energy. B number 2, breathing. Now I know many people are doing meditation, yoga, and other kinds of breathing, but this one allows the brain to release happy chemicals again to maximize metabolism, focus, and energy on your weight loss. And it goes something like this, it's called the 6-6-9 breathing, and that's just it, breathing in on 6, holding that breath on 6 and then exhaling on the count of 9. This is an amazing anchor tool in case you start having that negative self-talk on not staying on track. B number 3, that I call body. This may sound like moving your body like exercise, but it's moving the body to move the mind. What do I mean by that? Well, if you're sitting down, for example, feeling anxious, depressed, fearful, or angry, just moving your body's position and stand up, for example, that creates a switch to distract the mind, meaning that toxic chemicals are released due to the negative thinking. By the way, these are the same chemicals that are holding you back on the weight loss journey. This will actually pause and stop because what happens with your body on the outside of the brain will follow on the inside of the brain. As my all-time favorite actor Robin Williams says, "You're only given a little spark of madness, you mustn't lose it."
