This is a YouTube video titled "$500-$900/hr. As a Medical Expert Witness #doctor" featuring Jim Dahle discussing the value and requirements of being a high-quality medical expert witness, including clinical activity, expertise, and market rates for such work. The content is a monologue or presentation by Jim Dahle without other speakers.
Experts are really valued when they charge more and do the highest quality work that goes with that value. The market rates can be from 500 to $900 per hour for something you can do a few hours a week predominantly on your own time. Really delivers on that by showing up, doing great research to support opinions, being available, and having a great infrastructure and organization to your expert witness business. You do need to be clinically active, because that's part of your value is your skills, training and expertise. Seeing patients that can be, however, as little as about one day a week, you're already an expert. Being a board certified, preferably physician in clinical practice, having already passed the tests and acquired the skills, training and expertise to do this work that makes you an expert.
