This is a YouTube video titled "Is Doctor Pay Going Down? #doctor #physicianfinance #money #financialplanning #personalfinance" containing a conversation recorded in June 2024. The discussion features multiple speakers including Jim Dahle, focusing on physician compensation trends over time, addressing misconceptions about doctors being paid less, and encouraging physicians to be proactive in negotiating their pay.
There's this idea out there that keeps getting passed around. The doctors are getting paid less, especially after inflation. They're getting paid less as the years go on. The data doesn't really bear that out. You know, at worst, they're keeping up with inflation in general. If you go back to 1960, doctors are doing much better than they were 50 or 60 or 70 years ago. And so that. Don't. Don't let anybody bamboozle you into underpaying you because they think you're not worth as much as you are.
I think it's just important to understand that even though there's a lot of discussion around how difficult finances are in healthcare. Right. And how these systems are maybe not having a ton of profit, that when we look at comp. It's still going up for physicians. And, you know, when you look at the new data sets that come out every year, when you look at the contracts on our site and see what people are negotiating, I think you should feel empowered despite all the static around that. And I think you just. You have to be, you know, somewhat aggressive and, you know, make this a priority for you. So we hope that your listeners find this helpful.
