As a financial planner, people ask me a lot of questions. My answer usually starts with it depends. And there is no area of personal finance right now that is more subject to the it depends clause than student loans. There's just so many variables. Those variables include what state you live in, what state you're moving to, when your training ends or when it ended, what type of job you take, if you're married, if you're getting married, your income now, what your income will be in the future, your partner's income, how many kids you have, the types of loan you have, your student loan balance.
