This is a YouTube video titled "When Doctors Don't Feel Rich #doctor #happiness #money" containing a personal reflection or monologue from November 29, 2024. The speaker discusses their feelings about wealth and financial mindset, particularly the contrast between expectations of feeling rich and the reality shaped by financial responsibilities and priorities such as paying bills, saving, investing, and tithing.
I was having brunch with one of my girlfriends and I was like, this feels different than what I thought it would feel like. To be honest, I don't feel rich. Like, I thought that, you know, attending the first paycheck, the sign on, but I was like, I thought I was going to be living large, and I don't feel rich. And she goes, no, no, no, no, no. Like, you can comfortably pay your rent, your bills are on autopay, you don't think about the price of food or groceries, you travel and, and you have so much money left over that you can save consistently. You tithe. So, you know, you give 10% to your church and you know you're investing thousands of dollars each month and you're paying extra towards your student loans. She was like, the reason you don't feel rich is because you're doing all of these other things, but if you weren't doing those things, then you probably would feel as rich as you are. It was like a change in mindset of saying, okay, let me stop comparing myself to other doctors that I know make substantially more than me and try to remember, like, how blessed I really.
