In this sermon, the speaker urges listeners to recognize that God—not personal ambition—is the ultimate author of their destiny. He recounts his own journey from believing in self‑determination to understanding himself as a vessel for God’s purpose. By citing several biblical passages (Jeremiah 29:11, Matthew 7:7, Philippians 4:13, James 1:2‑4, Psalm 23), he establishes a scriptural foundation for surrendering to divine authority. The speaker emphasizes that true greatness arises when one fully trusts and submits to God, while also confronting the reality that surrender does not eliminate trials. Using analogies of diamonds and gold, he explains that pressure and purification are necessary for spiritual and personal growth. Misconceptions that surrender guarantees an easy life are corrected, and the message concludes that embracing God’s control leads to profound fulfillment, wealth, freedom, and a “ride of your life.”

There's no greater discovery than realizing that God is the author of your destiny. I want you to think about that. See, when we're younger, when we're growing up, and we have all these dreams and aspirations about being, you know, an amazing parent, having an amazing family, having an amazing career, all these things that we dream about, We start out thinking or believing we are in control. We're always told you can become anything you want. You can do whatever you want. You set your mind to it, you can achieve it. I've believed that my entire life. Since I was little, I always knew there was something great out there to be achieved. It was later on in life that I realized that I'm just a pawn. I'm just a vessel. I'm just a, a shell that God operates through. And when I realized the power that God had and that he was in complete control, and when I realized the promises of his word, I then realized how amazing things were going to become. Jeremiah 29:11 says, I know the plans I have for you, the plans to prosper you, not to harm you. Matthew 7:7 states, knock, it shall be opened. Seek, you will find. Ask, and it will be given. See, there's, there's throughout Scripture, God's Word says, I'm there for you. I created you. Therefore, you have me in you. And there is no greater authority than that who gives authority. When we realize that God is in control and God controls everything and we believe it, We understand it. We strive within it. We can achieve it. Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. See, when we want to come and become something great, when we want to rise above, when we want to excel in life, we have to understand where do we get the power? Where do we get the authority? And where is our destiny established? And the minute we understand that God is the author of our destiny, once we discover that and we rely upon it and we give full faith within that and we, we, we surrender ourselves to that, then greatness begins. See, Zig Ziglar said, you don't have to be great to start, but you do have to start to be great. And we have to start internally. We have to really understand the power within us. We have to understand, accept, and establish a relationship with that authority so that we can go to the next level without fear. See, the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He leadeth me through still waters. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil because his rod and his staff, they comfort me. See, throughout scripture it is written, promises are made. To ensure and protect, guide and direct us through life. But here's where the problem lies. Most people think that if I surrender myself to Christ, that life will be easy, that I'll not have any issues, I'll not have any trials and tribulations. But if you go further and you read James 1:2-4, it says, consider it pure joy, my brother, when you face trials and tribulations of many kinds, because these are the things that strengthen you. So you have to go through that. Diamonds are made through immense pressure. Gold is made through continuous burning and purification. Everything great and precious in the world goes through a purification. If you want to be great, you want to be the precious metal of God's glory, you want to have greatness around you, you want to exude greatness within you, then you must understand the pressure, the purification, the trials, the tribulations, It took me years to understand that. But once I accepted it, once I allowed God to be within me and work through me, the fulfillment was overwhelming. The success was more than I ever dreamed. See, for you to want to become something great, for you to want to have more in life, to be fulfilled, to be— have a lifetime of wealth, to have a lifetime of freedom, you've got to go through the stages and the steps. You've got to go through the purification. You have to surrender yourself and give yourself wholly to God and let the Creator of all create your destiny. And be in full control. And the minute you recognize this— the greatest discovery is recognizing, realizing that God is the authority of your destiny. Once you accept that, once you realize that, get ready for the ride of your life.
